When I got home they only gave me 30 pills. I called the pharmacy & they said sorry but it is my mistake and I should have counted them before I left the pharmacy. I never count my medicine before I leave, I always trusted that it was right. Has this happen to anyone else. I'm so upset. There is nothing I can do about it. I paid $30.00 dollars for my medicine and they didn't give me the full 60 my Doctor prescribed. They gave me 30. This is suppose to last me for a month.
I went to pick up my medicine at CVS and they were suppose to give me 60 klonopin for a month?

As soon as you leave the pharmacy, doesn't matter if they shorted you. I always look at the level of pills in the bottle, then if it doesn't look right, I make them count in front of me, so yes it has happened to me. I'm sorry, I believe if you tell your doc, he may be able to rectify the situation by writing a script with a dosage change to get around the DEA.
You can make it a month, I promise. Clonazepam has a long half life. Stretch it out by taking a little less each day. You'll be ok.
Yeah I know I will make it a month. It's just how rude the guy was about messing up on my medicine. I also wanted my money back but he accused me of not counting them right and he never makes mistakes. I was suppose to get 60 pills but got 30 that's a big difference. I know how to count. He could at least give me half my money back. Oh well, I guess I have to count my meds before I leave everytime.
I could see being a pill or two off but if he is saying you just didn't count right. Good grief! I agree you should report this particular guy so they can watch him. I bet you aren't the first person to have meds missing. If everyone complained... and it turns out to be this guy... he could end up in jail, you know? Maybe you will be the turning point in whatever this guy is doing. Maybe he is "selling" these on the side! Who knows any more there is such a big problem. Maybe he is having drug problems himself... one never knows until that first report of theft comes in or gets added to other reports so they can catch him "red handed" and on tape.

A Doctor should really be the one giving advice on her prescription. By cutting back so much it could be a concern. Her Dr.prescribed 60/month, that's what she should be taking.
I had this happen and I will not last a month! The reason why is my script is supposed to say "take two a day" and it changed to "take one a day". So 60 pills became 30 pills. I noticed it looked low several days later.
The problem is, this has happen many times before. All kinds of mistakes! Wrong quantities, dates, prescriptions shredded by mistake -every time I have a great deal of stress and I have to drive one hour to the town where the doctor's office is. The drive is hard for me due to c I am totally at their mercy because this is a overloaded pain specialist. I am even had to take time off work for hte drive and then I have lost wages. Just got a call from the doctor: seems this time it is the pharmacy's mistake. So I don't have to drive (yet), but the pharmacist is a grouch, so I hope it goes smoothly.
I'll take any advice, I will try to remember to check everything -but it is hard. Recently, I had to have someone drive me the hour to the doctor's twice for a missing prescription two days after surgery.
I feel so frustrated and helpless.
Whoever told you this is full of you know what. First of all klonopin does have a halflife all drugs do. Klonopins 1/2 life is 6 to 8 hours but those drug levels are very important especially if you are being treated for seizures. So you should not stretch them out. If you don't take them as prescribed you could have a seizure. Contact your doctor with your problem, he should help.
You can bet the next time I got something filled there, I'd stand right at the register and count them out. And I'd count one pill at a time and take all the time I could, no matter how many people were behind me in line. They'd stop that practice immediately. Did you talk to the pharmacist when you called? It also helps if you go to the pharmacy to tell them about it, they don't want other people hearing these things. That is called how to get more money without really trying on their part. I'd call my insurance company today. They shorted you and your insurance co won't like it too much. Also, since it is a narc, you'll have to get a new prescription for the other 30. I would also go to the CVS web site and complain. I would hope that anyone dispensing pills could count. This is why I won't use CVS. I am currently looking for medicare Part D and I was sent info on CVS's plan. That went immediately into the trash.
Thank you for your advice. I have been shorted 1 or 2 before but always let it slide but I was suppose to get 60 and he gave me 30 that's a big difference. I was really nice about it to. He said he never makes mistakes and I counted wrong. What ever I will just make due of my 30 pills. Thanks for everyone's advice
Patti is right, don't let it slide, someone there is taking your klonopin and getting away with it. Make a fuss, that's the only way its going to stop. Go to the store and demand to talk with the manager. Tell him unless its straightened out you're calling the cops, I'm willing to bet the guy who filled your script is having a nice little party tonight. He'll say you're wrong because he doesn't want to get caught he's got too good a thing going.
Good luck finding a Medicare Part D that isn't wrapped up with the major pharmacies. My CCRx that I use wherever is run by CVS Care Mark... I use Walgreens. Just a little information.

I was shorted 3 and thats what I needed for my pill count.. I will be l locked out of I don't find the 3 I need on the street.. I have bad anxiety and can't afford the loss
I guess there is no consumer law that says they have to count them if you require them to do it. I've had the same problems and thought I had it worked out and then the pharmacist tonight would not count it in front of me. So I guess your idea is a good one and I'll just pour the pills out and count them myself before I even pay for them. There you go if you're going to be so uncooperative then I'm going to be sure I'm getting what I'm supposed to be getting. Wish me luck I know it's going to take them all off. But my daughter is a nurse and she says it's a law that if you ask them to count it that they have to, I just can't find it. If anyone knows that there is a law as my daughter says then please email me with it.
Try making a police report for the theft, and that is what it is. That should make them a bit more cooperative with you. Report it to your insurance company and the police, ok. I personally have never had this happen, but have seen it be mentioned here. Rx is supposed to be counted and recounted a few times, and obviously they have a thief, they don't want to have to do an inventory, so they are blowing you off. How complicated it would be for every patient to recount their meds at the counter, would cause major delays for every one. Just like at the bank, but the bank is more likely to listen if you say you are missing money, than some pharmacies when you are missing meds. It is theft, plain and simple, so report it to the insurance and the police. Patti
They told me they never make mistakes and I didn't count my pills right. But I counted them over like 3 times. The guy that filled my meds said I was lieing. It's a big mess. I guess I will let it go. Maybe I can get my money back. Thank you for the advice
This is being handled badly by CVS, but it is only at store level. Believe me, if you inform your insurance that they got ripped off too and make a police report, you are going to get some action. Because there a pills missing, the only way for them to check that is an inventory and they do NOT want to do that, but they MUST!!! When you get into contact with area supervisors or even the home office at CVS, there will be some repercussions for the store. Tell them how illogical and time delaying it would be for you to stop and count each pill from each rx each time you pick up an rx. This is why they have multiple people who have to count and recount rx meds at a pharmacy in the first place, to prevent you from having to do so.
so other people are being mistreated by cvs. i went there never had problems with my scripts. but they somehow mixed up my seizure meds with penicilin which i happen to be allergic to and spent 3 days in the hospital. they told me i should have checked before i left. the bottle was labled correctly and i did not see need to open the bottle and check them. im now trying to find a mal practice lawyer to handle this matter.
U have every right 2 file a report with the police and who ever it takes... Better than going without your med's call them out... Do not let them get by with it.. Going without will be alot harder than filling out a report... If U need it, and there responsible... your'll get it!!!

Had surgery, went to CVS to fill the scrip.picked up the scrip for HYDROCODON-ACETAMEINOPHEN, having my daughter help me to put fill my weekly med. Containers. We found five pills were missing.. my daughter headed back immediately to confront CVS. What a bunch of bull. The pharmacist said he found the other 5 pills in another container. What kind of an answer was that. Some one has a drug problem or someone is selling them, well that's our take on the subject. We got the pills returned, I am still going to report this incident to the insurance company.
