My doctor prescribed venlafaxine 37.5mg bid today for anxiety. I took the first pill today after dinner and within about an hour and a half my stomach started to hurt. I had intense nausea and knew I was going to throw up. Within a few minutes I was vomiting non stop and then had diarrhea.
I do not feel like myself. I feel very shaky and just strange. Could this be from the venlafaxine? I am hesitant from taking them ever again.

What you describe are common side effects although yours sound a bit more severe than usual. The good news is that they generally resolve within just days to a week or so and lessen day by day.
Let your doctor know and talk to your pharmacist who can recommend an OTC remedy that doesn't interact with the medication.
Your doctor may have you start again with a lower dosage until you're better adjusted to the drug.
