There is a history of Crohn's Disease/ Colitis in my family - does Accutane pose a legitimate risk?

I have a friend who apparently didn't even have Crohn's Disease in her family and claims that Accutane gave it to her as a teenager.

I have severe cystic hormonal acne for which ProActiv (9 years), Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo (2 weeks so far), Spironolactone (1 month so far), Minocyclen (2 weeks so far) have not or are not working.

I would really like to try out Accutane because I've heard great things from those who did not have horrible side effects (aside from the typical skin peeling/drying), but this is a legitimate worry of mine.
