Giardiasis - Even after it has been treated, can it come back? Can stress trigger a reoccurance?

I was diagnosed with having Giardia last year and received treatment. My stress level is very high right now and many symptoms mirror the parasite. So I'm not sure if it is really just stress or if the parasite has returned or if stress caused it to return.
