Go asap to the nearest ER of a hospital. Erection lasting more than 4 hrs. can cause big damage.

What damage can it cause? Its been like 12 hours. I was researching and it says the trazodone gets out of my system in 48 hours
They said they would put a needle in my penis to drain out the blood. That freaks me out. I hate needles..
If that freaks you out, what does the thought of damage to the tissues in your penis, or even gangrene do to you, get to the er NOW.
ps, your'e not supposed to drink when you are on meds like trazedone.
As stated above by another member, drinking alcohol and mixing almost any kind of medication is a bad idea.. even if it's OTC medication but for sure Prescription meds. What this condition you're describing, which by now I'm sure you've been informed of, is called Priapism. Here is some information about that, and it specifically mentions the relationship between Priapism and Trazodone.
Definition:
A persistent, often painful erection. The condition occurs when blood is unable to adequately drain from the penis. It is not associated with sexual stimulation, but may be caused by sickle cell anemia, trauma to the spinal cord or genital area, black widow spider bites, carbon monoxide poisoning, illicit drug use or certain prescription drugs. An antidepressant called trazodone is one drug which can potentially cause priapism. If not treated immediately, it can cause permanent scarring and erectile dysfunction.
MY ADVICE... if you experience this reaction the likelihood of it being due to mixing alcohol and the meds.. is NOT the cause.. the MEDICATION ALONE IS THE CAUSE AND I WOULD NEVER TAKE IT AGAIN.. ALSO, IF YOU HAVE THIS REACTION TO TRAZODONE YOU WILL LIKELY ALSO HAVE THE SAME REACTION, REQUIRING THE SAME TREATMENT (using a needle to drain the blood from the penis.. and yes, this is painful, embarrassing for most ppl, and not something any man would want to have to do.. much less twice) IF YOU ARE EVER GIVE THORAZINE!!! BE WARNED.. Not only have I practiced medicine for most of my adult life, I experienced this with a previous boyfriend... TWICE.. Once from Tradzodone and once from Thorazine!!
