This person says yes;
My doctor gave me Bactrim for serious boils that developed in my underarm, the medication worked wonders
So I'd say yup.

Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim) is a prescription antibiotic approved to treat a variety of different infections. In addition to treating infections, it is also approved to prevent one particular infection, Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, in people with a weakened immune system.

yes it will help I get boils too they hurt bad I get them inside nose, neck. armpits and they dont know why just say staff infection or hair follicles let me say they hurt bad when they lance also also depends on who lances them some thinks its fun to pop the suckers while u scream in pain

and make sure they give u something for the pain like vicodin this ibuprofen does not help it hurts because its direct on skin and when they push on it like the worse pain in the world.
