Hello,
Dexmethylphenidate does not interact with Children's Nyquil although there are moderate interactions between Children´s Nyquil active ingredients.

Before you decide what to give your son, I recommend you inform his/her Dr./Pediatrician that you are planning on adding a new medication. The reason being is that Dexmethylphenidate is, as you know, a prescription medication only, a CNS stimulant, and it is always safer to inform the prescribing Dr. what the current situation is regarding your son, for your son´s safety only.

I am terribly sorry I missed this potential moderate interaction with one of Children´s Nyquil active ingredient and Dexmethylphenidate,
Moderate meaning:
Moderate Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.

pseudoephedrine dexmethylphenidate
Applies to: Children's Nyquil (chlorpheniramine / dextromethorphan / pseudoephedrine), dexmethylphenidate
Both pseudoephedrine and dexmethylphenidate can increase blood pressure and heart rate, and combining them may enhance these effects. Talk to your doctor before using these medications, especially if you have a history of high blood pressure or heart disease. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or you experience increased side effects.
It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
