My cough is loose, but it must be deep because I have to "work at " ie, keep coughing, to bring up the mucous so I can discharge it. It is exhausting work as the mucous is very thick. I took the hydromet to get some cough relief in my diaphram as well as some sleep, but I would much prefer to take a product that will thin out the mucous and allow me to get rid of the infection. But, can I now take the Mucinex? I took the hydromet at 7:30am, and it is now noon. When would be safe to change products?
Can I use MucinexDM expectorant &suppressant w/ hydromet to thin the mucous & cough it up?
