I know this is an old post, however, I thought maybe someone might come across it and want some information. First of all I want to say that when someone posts a question on a forum, they are not asking to be judged or criticized, they are simply looking for information. I cant understand why some people cant just give their answer and leave it at that... They insist on making assumptions and giving their UNWANTED opinions. With that being said, YES, the xanax will show up in the drug screen. Im not sure where the answers given that it will not show up were researched at but my answer is based on two things. The first being that I have done this many times, and it has ALWAYS shown positive and the second is that I work in a Medical Lab and have this information at my disposal first hand. No you have to actually take the xanax otherwise it won't be considered metabolized which means they can tell if its been through the body. Hope this helps!

The only conclusion I can draw from this question is this, You are prescribed xanax yet you don't take them. I'm not going to assume what you're doing with these meds, but it can't be good. Your worried if your tested, it won't show up. As far as the UA, they test for metabolites, which means it has to pass through your system.

I'm sorry, but why would you feel the need to cruch this xanax? I would think that taking it the normal "oral" route would suffice to pass a UA. Just a bit confused, do you care to elaborate?
