I was on Lexapro for 5 years although everything was all good... I stopped it and had bad withdrawals. I really want to go back on it but I’m so afraid of the withdrawals... I am looking for another antidepressant that will work just as good as Lexapro but not as potent.
Have anyone found a antidepressant that helps with anxiety other than Lexapro?

Everyone responds differently to this type of medication so finding one that is most effective for you with minimal side effects is a matter of trial and error. Withdrawals can be difficult for some people with all antidepressants and symptoms can be eliminated or minimized by following a tapering dose schedule (sometimes lengthy) provided by your health care provider.
I took Lexapro for years and years until it "pooped out" on me. Other options I might suggest are Celexa, Paxil, Prozac, and Zoloft in the SSRI class of antidepressants, but remember no one is more potent than another... it all depends on your response.
Have a discussion with your doctor about these options and get some professional help in making a decision.

Hi, I am in my 50's and have tried a lot of antidepressants. I like how doxepin settles me down and levels me off. Which in turns my anxiety down. Best of luck

heard Celexa is close to lexapro. Had a buddy of mine have good success with it from lexapro.
