I have looked into this and can't find any over the counter medication and have looked at turmeric and omega 3 both of which advise not to take if on blood thinners. I have very severe hip pain and am desperate to find some relief. I can't get to the doctors because at the moment I can't get downstairs. I would welcome any advice.

I would stick with ibuprofen and alternate ice and heat. Anti-inflammatory meds can cause an increased risk of bleeding with blood thinners.
Drink plenty of water!
If all else fails and ibuprofen, heat, and ice don't get you up and moving in a day, you may need to call an ambulance to get you to the ED for treatment.
