I started on vyvanse 30mg about a month ago. It is working well but it wears off around 5 or 6 pm. My doctor prescribed me another 10mg to take at some point in the afternoon. Does anyone that takes a second dose have any suggestions? I usually take the first one between 7:30 and 8:30 and then I feel it wearing off around 5 or 6. If you're on a second dose can you let me know what you do and how it works for you?

I have searched and searched for ANY legitimate (meaning NO using Vyvanse for recreational purposes) questions—with responsible answers—and have found none. It may be that I am using the wrong words when googling for this. I also would like to know what B.E.D. folks who are prescribed Vyvanse for the disorder do if taking it in the morning (as prescribed) does not help their typical "evening bingeing time," because it wears off before then. I began the med May 4, 2017 at 30 mg/day, then upped it to 50 a week later... so, I've been on it for three weeks now. I felt very energetic the first few days, plus I did not binge. However, I did binge about once a week for the next week or two—which is actually pretty good for me—beCAUSE the drug seemed to wear off by evening and I had the overwhelming urge to do so.
(The Vyvanse worked during the day when I DON'T have trouble with bingeing.) I decided about three days ago to start taking about 1/4 of the dose (by emptying the powder from the capsule and eyeball-measuring it) when I got up in the morning, then the rest at about 6 p.m. So far, so good. I sleep just fine from about midnight until 8. I have felt good during my days and definitely do not feel like bingeing in the evenings. I feel very much in control in the evenings. I hope this lasts. I'll let you know how this current regimen goes.
are you on vynase for ADHA or BED? I took 30 mg of vyvanse in the morning around 8 for BED, it wore off by 6 or so in the evening, when I switched to Adderall XR 30 mg, I don't have a problem at all. Works all day and all evening.
Vyvanse is a time released medication so it is difficult to say. Maybe you should try something fast acting when it wears off. I take Adderall 30mg 2xdaily and it is not really working because I have built a tolerance to it.
I also take adderall 30mg 2 times daily i get up in the morning i eat something because u know if u take adderall first u wont have a appetite so i eat first then i take my first dose of 30mg around 7
8am then i resume my daily activities o take my 2nd dose around 4pm and that gets me through the rest of my day as i ease into my night time duties. I do this Monday through Friday and on sat and Sunday i don't take any i relax and eat and let my brain and body take a break from the medicine those 2 days that i dont take it gives my body a chance to catch up doing it like this i don't build-up such a tolerance for it so when Monday comes I'm fresh and ready to complete my work week
