Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I suffer from severe arthritis of hips and knees and they need to be replaced. My doctor put me on Belbuca along with my other pain meds and I'm just going to tell you Belbuca is a joke. Thanks to all you junkies out there, people like me that suffer every day from chronic pain literally are forced on this drug because all you crack heads want to get high. You will eventually start trying to abuse this, and they will ban it as well. Because you find any way to abuse something, thanks to you all. Think of this when you get hurt real bad and need pain meds and the doctor won't give you any because they don't make them anymore. Think of that and I hope you finally see for yourself, but Belbuca is a joke."

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opioid Use Disorder "I was part of the phase III trial of what is now called Sublocade. This shot literally saved my life. I was doing $300 of heroin IV everyday for years. I went to rehab, tried Suboxone strips, weaning, etc etc etc, nothing worked. I took this shot at 300mg for 14 months, and not only did I have no issues quitting, but I had no withdrawal symptoms after discontinuing the shot. I fully 100% recommend this medication to anyone suffering from opiate dependency. Please, don't hesitate. Try it if you're able."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "Dealing with arthritis for over 20 years; first ran the gamut of all the meds, was lambasted when I suggested old-fashioned pain meds. Finally told nothing more rheumatology could do for me; that I should try pain management. That equals opioid therapy; was a godsend for me. 8 years now, no problems/side effects; take as prescribed; rarely asked for increase. I take as prescribed responsibly. With the climate how it is today, there's a stigma if you are on opioid therapy you are addicted. BS! After 8 years, if I was going to have problems, they would have happened by now. Belbuca IMO is using devious marketing ploys; it does not work. Maybe a minority, but what about honest, law-abiding patients who benefit from opioids taking it responsibly?"

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I just started taking Bellbluca and am on the 75mcg dose. I know that the Dr is going to have to up my dosage. My only issue is that I can't figure out how to keep it from sticking to my teeth. Does anyone else have this issue? How do you keep it from doing this?"

Butrans (buprenorphine) for Pain "After my injury turned from acute to chronic, my doctor prescribed a 10 mcg patch. I was very skeptical since a patch seems very non-traditional, but I gotta say it worked terrific. You put the patch on once a week and forget about pain/pills till the next week. So effective and convenient that multiple times I have forgotten to change it after a week. Only downside is no hot tub/baths and no direct sunbathing, a bummer when you live on the CA coast! Also no tolerance issues, was on the same dose with the same results for 2 years."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Pain "I've been taking Belbuca for several months now. I was on the 300mcg and they brought me back down to 150 mcg thought the 300 may have been making me too tired. It hasn't worked for any of my pain at all. I've given it plenty of time to test. I will be asking for a referral to a pain management program because the GP doesn't want to prescribe anything stronger than this. My insurance covered it in full, but it's a waste of time because it doesn't work at all. I have no life with this pain."

Butrans (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I was scared to try this but saw these reviews... I want to thank you all for easing my mind! I finally tried Butrans and am so thankful this exists. I have been on pain medication for a couple of years. I was so tired of the constant ups and downs that seemed to come in shorter and shorter intervals. This patch works great! I'm in less pain, sleep better, and am finally getting off the couch and doing some things."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I never write reviews on anything, but I am a 35-year-old male and was diagnosed with blood cancer about 13 months ago. With this type of cancer comes the most horrific pain imaginable! Imagine if every bone in your body is broken and there are razor blades running through your veins, all the while people are prying at every joint in your body with crowbars that have been heated up to almost melting, and you start to come close! I have been prescribed every pain medication under the sun to deal with this, and nothing seems to help until my doctor put me on Belbuca 300 mcg! I would just like to say thank you for giving my life back!"

Butrans (buprenorphine) for Pain "I have been on pain medicines since 1987 and had an injury. I went through it all the way up to Lorcet. Then when they found out I had a liver condition, they switched me over to Butrans. About 30 minutes after taking it, I was out of pain, but I was also in a newer state of mind. On my previous painkillers, I assumed they were working. But with Butrans, once it hit me, I was VERY aware of being on a narcotic. NO pain and a nice buzz on the side. Thank You to Butrans."

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opioid Use Disorder "I struggled with a severe heroin/fentanyl addiction for 10 plus years. I had been to at least 14 rehabs not counting detoxes and incarcerations. I've overdosed so many times that I had lost count. I had hit my "rock bottom" and made the decision to stop only to later relapse and find out that my bottom could always be a dug a little deeper. I had truly lost the will to live. I had destroyed everything that I had ever loved or cared about. I had contemplated and attempted suicide via o.d.ing. I've went the suboxone and methadone routes to inevitably end up right back where I started. I was stuck in what seemed to be a ground hogs day in the deepest crevices of mental, physical, and emotional never ending nightmare. I came to truly understand through witnessing the outcomes of other addicts that my two options were death or prison. I've been on sublocade for I believe 11 months now. I have a life that I am grateful for today. No NA rehab or incarceration involved. This medication saved my life."

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opioid Use Disorder "Rated this 9 out of 10, as I’m still taking the 100mg shot (5th one). Unsure what stopping will feel like. I was on subs for 7yrs! I have a busy life & I can’t afford to leave & deal with being sick. Most of what I read about sublocade scared the poop outta me; luckily I have a fantastic doctor I trust & I chose to listen to him. Getting the shot sucks & definitely hurts worse than I thought. So what! It’s 30 seconds of stinging/burning sensation for legit freedom! This has been SUCH a blessing! Literally day 3 I forgot I was ever taking anything on daily basis. After required 300mg shots, I went right to the 100mg with 0 issues/transition. Actually, I forgot to schedule my next appointment before leaving & ended up going 7 weeks b4 thinking...hmm, seems like it’s been a while since my last appt. Do u know how insane that is after being on subs for SO long?! Ur crazy if u have opportunity to switch & u don’t take it. Honestly, u will think what was I waiting for within the first week!!"

Subutex (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I came into the hospital already prescribed 8 mgs Subutex 3 times a day for opiate withdrawal. Been prescribed it at home for the last 2 years. It has never worked for pain for me. Now in the hospital with severe and chronic pain after having spinal surgery and a messed up hip. I had a severe MRSA infection in my spine and hip. I'm back in the hospital bc of overexertion and the infection coming back in my spine and hip. My pain doctor here refuses to give me anything at all for pain because my Subutex should be helping my pain. Even though I've been on it so long and it's never helped ever. I don't know whey they think all of a sudden it's going to help. He could at least try tramadol. I'm reporting him. I've been in the hospital in severe pain for two months not getting hardly any sleep because of the constant pain. I'd love to put him through this."

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opioid Use Disorder "Ok I’ve been on Sublocade for 7 months now. What worries me is I don’t want to be on this shot forever. The doctor has been taking 10% off my injection each time I got so now I’m down to about 50% of a 100mg shot. I am nervous that I won’t be able to get off this shot and the drug company has no info on tapering, coming off, or long term use. So I’m kinda experimenting here. Yes this is an amazing drug but I’m not trying to stay on this shot forever. We need more info on long term use and risks of tapering or even if you can. I get my shot on Monday and we are taking another 10% off. I can also tell you one time I went 64 days on a 100mg shot with no withdrawal or any kind of symptoms so this shot Is super long acting. No joke 64 days cause I was switching jobs and insurances. When I got my new insurance and went for the next dose after 64 days I still felt fine. I have searched high and low and there is zero info on coming off Sublocade. I guess I will keep you posted."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I am a type 1 diabetic with severe diabetic peripheral neuropathy. I have been on every pain med under the sun. Starting from Norco to oxycodone/oxycontin to fentanyl patches. Oxycodone 30mg 6x a day plus oxycontin 30mg 2-4x a day was the best for me. Recently, I've been taking oxycodone 30mg 4-5x a day (about past 6 months after nucynta wasn't doing it). I have tried a switch from my oxycodone to Belbuca film 150mcg. MY experience has been this. I cold turkey switched over 4 days ago. The first day was pretty awful. I would highly suggest having breakthrough meds to aid in the transition. I believe Belbuca can work. I say give it a shot. If switching from other painkillers, expect a couple days of feeling off, weak, fatigued. Thats why I'd really advise having breakthrough pain meds for the process. Hope this helps anyone switching or adding this medication. Let me know if you have any questions!"

Sublocade (buprenorphine) for Opioid Use Disorder "I have been on medication for opiate dependence since 2007. The majority of that time spent on Suboxone 8mg. But as much as 16mg daily and for a short time 4mg daily. About 6 weeks ago my doctor suggested Sublocade due to the fact that I was unable to make it to my WEEKLY appts for a Suboxone Rx and treatment with Sublocade meant I only needed to come into the office monthly. With some hesitation and reluctance I finally agreed, as the alternative was discharge from my program. I understood my biggest fears to be not having the medication in my possession to feed the habit of taking something EVERYDAY. And also the fear that it wouldn't last 30 days, being sick with withdrawals and not having anything to stop that. Well, I was beyond pleasantly surprised by how my body took to this drug. I cannot say enough positive things about the medication. I would recommend this medication to anybody who has found trouble with the alternative, Suboxone."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "Thanks to this "opioid" crisis my pain doctor decided to switch me from the Oxycontin and hydrocodone I had been taking for the chronic nerve pain I've been in for 12 years. Now that I've been on the Belbuca I can say I was truly blessed to have the other drugs for so long. I know now how much pain they had been blocking for so long. I've been in pain ever since I've switched back, all the burning nerve pain has come back plus all the aches from joint pain that had been reduced by the opioids."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Pain "I have taken Belbuca for a year now for all over body pain due to neurology damage. My doctor started me low and we worked up from there to the 300 mcg dose twice a day and we worked up from there. I think I may have experienced a headache in the beginning not sure. But it did help my pain, until it didn't then my doctor would increase my dose to the next level of patch. I'm now up to the 900 mcg dose. The only real side effects I have is being extremely tired and my body get really hot, which is a side effect. But this drug cost almost $900 a month! Insurance won't pay and I'm on a fixed income."

Butrans (buprenorphine) for Pain "This is simply and awful drug that is shockingly being misrepresented as a front line pain management drug vs a rehabilitation drug. Dr's are being either scared or bullied into writing scripts for this trash and people like myself with MS, 11 invasive surgeries including multiple cervical fusions, multiple thoracic disc replacements and once of my fusions is broken. Further, in my case it was equitably compared to a fentanyl patch in performance. It was my pharmacy that actually told me what it was and how it would or more so would work. I had no titration down from 100 Morphine Equivalents and was started on a patch of 7.5mcg. This medicine is so misunderstood; that when I went into withdrawal, then became dehydrated from the bowel distress and vomiting our little hospital didn't know what to do and was to scared to help - on a Sunday afternoon. IF GIVEN THE CHOICE, please don't agree to it and save yourself a ton of unneeded misery. Best of luck and find a doctor you trust"

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "My pain management physician opted to change my pain medicine protocol, based on the opinion of a secondary practitioner who has been fired from her job. As a result I am left to suffer in extreme pain. I have been forced to change my meds from hydrocodone three times per day which worked to manage my condition, to belbuca, which is completely ineffective. This may work for some people but it is completely useless for me. Being unable to control PAIN and live one's life without effective medications is quite challenging. However, BELBUCA is not the answer..."

Butrans (buprenorphine) for Pain "I have been on Butrans for about a week. Dealing with pain in my lower back for 25 years. Have received epidural shots in my L5 S1 area to no help. Was referred to a pain clinic. Was given a script for Butran 5mcg/1 hour. For the first time in 25 years I've had no pain. This has been a godsend. No side effects, no anything. I keep waiting for the pain to come back and it does not. I actually sleep now, can do more activities around the house than I could before, I'm not cranky anymore because of being in pain. So far, no breakthrough pain. Hope I don't get that. All I can say is YIPPEE, I'm pain-free."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "To Badbones who commented about PM Clinic being rude & disrespectful. Honey, "YOU ain't seen nothing yet!" Yanno how the DMV is just understood & expected to be a NITEMARE? Welcome to Pain Mgr! You MIGHT actually be in some pain but if so, it's your own fault for choosing to live as a junkie. You MIGHT get a low dose, low effective med but you will sell your soul to pay for it, that's for sure. Do EVER EVER say you took more than rx'd because your pain spiked etc.....NOT EVEN 1! DO NOT tell them this doesn't work. They'll take it & give you NOTHING until you've successfully begged & groveled.. I was BLESSED to find a Neurologist thats also PM. THEYRE OUT THERE. LOOK!!!! They're ALL run this way. Thx to real junkies & Trump they're all getting worse as he villianizes actual pain sufferers. I'm in NC & go from Charlotte to Raleigh to see my PM MD...its worth the trip! To ALL....PLZ PLZZZZZ find better doctors because you will DIE waiting for help thru ANY of the so called pain mgmt"

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "I have chronic pain. My Pain Management (PM) Doc she liked the idea of the Belbucca Patches because they are an extended release medicine and can help cover when my Percocet starts to wear off. That’s what Belbucca is good for, helping with break thru pain. My PM Doc Started me on 75 mcg. She just upped it to 300 mcg. I can tell a difference in the pain. It’s not as severe as it use to be, I have absolutely no side effects at all, the patch is super tiny, tastes minty, about the size of the tip of an eraser on a pencil , it sticks to the cheek with no problem. Don’t drink or eat till it’s dissolved. When you first put the patch on the inside of your cheek take your tongue and press it up against there and take some extra saliva and push it over the patch and it’ll stick with no problem. It doesn’t give you that drowsy drugged up feeling like some meds do, you can still go on with your daily activities that you normally do with no problems. Hope this helps!"

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "About 6 years ago I had a failed back surgery. The surgeon keep saying there was nothing more he can do. Took tons of pain meds that wouldn't last long at all. Then they said I need pain management and they took me off all meds so my pain was bad. Now I have a new pain doc he put me on Belbuca 300 mg. I tell you now it works for me. Still have pain but totally better then I have been in 6 years. I finally have a life back hunting fishing. I am so glad not to take pills anymore. I've taken it now for 3 months."

Belbuca (buprenorphine) for Chronic Pain "Works well if applied exactly right and it stays there. My problem is that it is difficult to apply and slides down inside of cheek and ends up in a little roll between gums and cheek. It does not enter bloodstream when this happens, torturous pain is the result. Sometimes it sticks to my teeth. Either malfunction destroys bioavailability and leaves me in horrible pain. My Pain Management (PM) Dr staff behaved as if my pleas for help were a huge imposition. I thought resolving pain issues was their job. I called twice politely asking for help. Their response was that if I don't shut up and wait for my appointment I had to have steroid shots if I want treatment. The PM Clinic power trip over those who are vulnerable is pathetic and inhumane. Sick of so called pain management clinics. Shame on you Dr and staff."
