For Major Depressive Disorder "I was severely depressed for several months. My doctor tried everything that I could tolerate. I am on Trintellix & Klonopin. I started on the sample pack up to 1 mg. I snapped out of the hard depression within 10 days. I felt super. I talked to my doctor in to an increase to 2 mg. I was irritable and nervous. I went back to 1 mg. and was back to my happy self. I would highly recommend Rexulti to anyone with hard-to-treat depression. This medication gets a full 10."

For Depression "Rexulti has been a MIRACLE for my anxiety/depression. I’ve tried pretty much every antidepressant on the market and had awful side effects with every one. I take lamictal for depression and adding this on top of it, it absolutely changed my life for the better. I have no side effects other than gaining a couple pounds, which I needed"

For Depression "I've been on Rexulti for about 5 months now. I told myself I would write a review because I know there are people out there looking for hope and good reviews. This drug definitely took me out of a dark hole. It took 3 days for it to work. I remember waking up feeling normal again. I take it as an add on to my anti-depressant Mirtazapine. I gained weight at the beginning but I was able to shed it off shortly after. I have some extrapyramidal effects but nothing weird. I just feel a weird twitch in a muscle every now and then. I keep an eye on it though. Other than that, no other bad side effects. I would give it a chance if your anti-depressant isn't doing enough. I take 1mg."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I've been on Rexulti for a month. It was added in addition to my Zoloft 150mg and Klonopin 1mg regimen after I told my psychiatrist that I felt like I was right on the brink of breaking out of my depression, but couldn't quite get there. I started with the sample pack, which consists of a week of 0.5mg tablets and a week of 1mg tablets. After about the 4th day, I started feeling better -- more energy, less anxiety. When I upped the dose to 1mg in the second week, I felt even better. At the end of the 2 weeks, I felt 100% myself. The only side effects I've experienced are slight insomnia (waking up in the middle of the night) and increased appetite. But I've got my life back, so it's worth it. I love this drug. It saved my life."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have struggled with depression for 20 years, and the last 2-3 years have been really bad. I was sleeping all the time, always tired, not eating well, no motivation to clean or do things outside of the house. I just had no motivation to even live because the depression was so heavy. I have tried tons of medications and have been on Effexor for about 10 years with little to no improvement. I started on .5mg of Rexulti about 2 weeks ago and for the last week have been on 1mg. I didn't think feeling 'normal' was ever going to be possible for me, but I was wrong. I forgot what 'normal' felt like. That is the best way I can describe this medication. I feel like a real human. This medication has helped me feel emotions again. I wake up not tired. I was literally tired and fatigued for years. I am more talkative at work. I feel confident. I am sleeping now. I could list more, but I think you get the point. I hope this feeling never goes away!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "Update from my last post on July 5, 2018. Things are still going well but I have now gained 30 pounds within the past year of being on Rexulti. It has almost spiralled me back into a depression gaining so much weight, as body image was something that made me anxious and depressed already. Just wanted to give an update because I hadn’t seen anyone else mention the weight gain."

For Depression "I wanted to write this for the people who are in a dark place and reading these for a glimmer of hope. 6 months ago I started to feel my depression and anxiety really kicking off. My doctor switched me from my Effexor to Zoloft but it just got worse. I was bed ridden, panic attacks and sobbing. I’m a mom to a young child and I had to leave work. My husband and parents were a godsend but I went to a very dark place. I was having dark thoughts and started to plan to end things. I went to hospital at my darkest point. They put me on Lexapro. It still wasn’t enough. I was suffering badly. Finally I saw a new psych and they started my on Rexulti. The first few days I felt very spaced out and had a sore throat. But slowly within two weeks that horrible dark fog began to lift. My anxiety was lowering. I started to smile. One day I realized I hadn’t cried all day. It’s now been 3 months on this med. I still have days I need a benzo for my anxiety but my depression is 99% gone."

For Depression "I’m back! I posted nearly 2 years ago on July 5, 2018 when I had been on Rexulti for a month. This drug helped me a lot the first few months, and then things just started going downhill. I gained 40 pounds in a matter of about 9 months, and I’m finally at a place now where my psychiatrist and I agree that I don’t need this medication anymore. The weight gain has just been really detrimental for my mental health because body image and eating disorders were part of my triggers. I hope that this medication can help other people and they don’t have to suffer with it fizzling out and causing unprecedented weight gain like it did for me."

For Schizophrenia "I have had to opposite experience than others on this site. I was on Abilify for about 10 years after trying every 2nd gen anti psychotic. I also have Trauma PTSD. Anyway at some point abilify stopped working well and I became extremely manic and aggressive. I completely stopped sleeping. Honestly just stayed up all night sitting in a chair being weird and catatonic with racing thoughts. When I rarely fell asleep it would only be for a couple hrs. Dr. switched me to Rexulti because of studies showing it helps with PTSD and within 3 days I felt so so much better. I was less paranoid, less agitated, no voices, no paralysis, no EPS. Way better than Abilify ever was. I also started to sleep 6-8 hrs straight every night. It is like it just reset something in my brain and I began to sleep again. I guess it either really works for you or really doesn't."

For Depression "Ive been using rexulti for bipolar treatment since November 2019 and it has changed my life. My bipolar is so much easier to control now. I finally feel like my real self gets to make my decisions instead of my emotional self. I have done lots of counselling as well but the medication has been the most helpful. I can control my urges and sadness better. I don’t get majorly depressed or manic anymore. Rexulti was my life saver. cons: experienced some dizziness at the start but it went away, can’t cry ever, expensive without coverage."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Rexulti saved my life! I was diagnosed with MDD and my PCP tried all the regular antidepressants (buspar, effexor, wellbutrin). Those made me manic and worsened my depression. Dark cloud of gloom, not wanting to die, but not wanting to live like this. I found a Psychiatric NP who does medication management for people like me. She started me on 0.5 mg of Rexulti alone, no other meds and on day 4 my mo-jo came back. I am now in my 6 month of taking it in the a.m. and have a wonderful life again. Clear thoughts, happy, peaceful and content. Even though this medication is usually prescribed as an add on to a antidepressant this works beautifully for me alone. Ask your doc about it, you've got nothing to lose."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I'm only on day 5 of .5 mg and I feel a significant difference. I had overwhelmed myself with responsibilities and crashed and burned, then had bottomed out completely, when another major event happened. I do not want to be on antidepressants again, after 15 years of them and 2 1/2 yrs off, but they are working. My anxiety was out of control and I was seriously sick because of Corona virus isolation and my stress. I hope it continues to work at low dose. I hope I don't gain huge amounts of weight. I do have a prescription that will slightly counteract the weight gain."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I started Rexulti as an add on three months ago. Since taking the medication I have had more energy to get things done. I have been able to sleep better at night. I have been diagnosed as treatment resistant and this has been the best medication I have tried. (After numerous med trials). My weight has remained unchanged, which is great. I have had no side effects from this medication and I take it before bed."

For Depression "I take 2 mg of Rexulti every night before bed for my bipolar disorder, and it has changed my life. I had tried so many medications and none of them seemed to help enough for me to find stability. Before I started it I was all over the place emotionally and struggled with severe anger and rage episodes multiple times a day. I've been on it for a few months now and I am much more in control of my emotions, whereas before I felt like my emotions totally controlled me. I'm happier and far more stable than I have been in years, and my relationship with my girlfriend, motivation, and ability to maintain my composure and work effectively have drastically improved with the help of Rexulti, therapy, and lifestyle adjustments."

For Depression "This medication saved my life. My anxiety was so bad I couldn't take an effective dose of SSRI. Rexulti calmed my anxiety enough I was able to start upping my SSRI and my depression is getting better and better every day. My anxiety is almost nonexistent! I have gained a few pounds but nothing significant and I would rather gain 10 pounds and be happy than be miserable."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have been on Rexulti .5mg now for over a month. I suffer from major depression and ptsd. I have tried over 30 different medications over the last 15 years and have either had no relief or terrible side effects. I also take 100mg of Zoloft. I no longer feel empty inside, I feel like I have some hope. I do have vivid dreams but I can handle that if it makes me feel so much better during the day. After many many years I may finally have gotten the right combo of meds. Good luck to all"

For Depression "I was put on .25 mg of rexulti to help the effect of my Lexapro. After increasing the rexulti to .50 I had my first major seizure. I was taken to the hospital and they said it was probably a non epileptic seizure. I called my doctor who said it could not be caused by the rexulti and increase the dosage to 1mg. After that my seizures increased to three or four times a week. I weaned myself off rexulti and now I am seizure free. Please be careful with this drug."

For Depression "I have bipolar and treatment-resistant depression. I had been on 8 different antidepressants and my psych added Abilify, which worked for the most part… but I developed akathisia so stopped. I was just on my Buspirone and Lamictal for about 5 months and I would dread getting up in the mornings, I’d just sit around and do nothing but stare at my phone, I was hardly taking care of my hygiene and hadn’t left the house in nearly three months. I finally told my psych what was going on and she added Rexulti and within two weeks my life changed. I wake up before my alarm, get up with no issues… I have nearly flipped our entire house (just finished our downstairs). My house is finally clean and liveable… I get out regularly and my marriage and relationship with my kids is a million times better. This is, in my own opinion, a miracle drug. It literally gave me my life back. I forgot who I really was until Rexulti."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have been on Rexulti for 3 weeks as an add on to Wellbutrin XL 300mg for major depression disorder. I have battled this for years trying so many different meds, finally found WB worked for me, however I still felt like I had mild depression. I wanted to smile again, laugh again and this med has done that for me. On my 4th day, I laughed and thought, this is working, finally! I was prescribed 0.5 for a week to increase to 1.0 the start of the 2nd week. The first week I felt hyper, energetic, and happy.. I had to call my Dr because I felt if I went up on the dose I would start having panic attacks and anxiety. She told me to stay on the 0.5 and increase if I felt like I needed to. I am still on the low dose. I'm in my 3rd week."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I took rexulti for 5 months. I gained 20lbs even doing weight watchers. I stopped taking it because it was not working anyways. I hate antipsycotic drugs. I have struggled with my weight for years and they do nothing but add to the problem. I would rather learn to deal with my depression then take anymore drugs at this point in my life. I just wanna know how your suppose to feel good while gaining weight. I don't understand that concept at all. For people who need these types of medications that fine. But, after trying this drug and struggling with my weight I am totally finished with all antipsycotic medications but this is just me. I would not recommend this to anyone who has weight issues weather you feel good or not."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have been taking Rexulti for about a week and a half. So far I have not experienced any negative side effects. I also take 450mg of Bupropion for my depression, which unfortunately has seemed to be less effective as time goes on and that's why my doc has been trying to find something I can add to the mix that will help me. I also take 50mg of Vyvanse, and 10mg of Dexedrine, for ADHD. I have tried Abilify and Latuda, and they did nothing for me - no side effects but no positive effects either, just... nothing. So far since I've started taking Rexulti I recently got the motivation to change my eating habits and try to lose some weight again. It's been over a year since I felt any kind of motivation to take better care of myself."
