GENERAL INFORMATION: The Vet-Kem Ovicollar for Cats is designed to prevent flea population build up in your home by killing flea eggs before they hatch. The ovicidal activity of Precor Insect Growth Regulator, the active ingredient used in the Vet-Kem Ovicollar for Cats, effectively breaks the flea life cycle by killing flea eggs laid on your cat for up to 12 months.
Directions For Use
Do NOT remove the collar from its package until ready to use. Thread flat end of the collar through buckle hole and tighten as necessary, so that at least two ridges are covered by the buckle. Collar must be worn loosely, but securely enough to prevent easy removal. Leaving ample length for collar expansion as the cat grows, cut off any excessive length and discard it in household garbage. The expandable section molded into the collar will stretch under the weight of an average size cat and allow the cat to free itself if it becomes hooked or entangled by the collar. Since both the expandable section and plastic buckle are molded into the collar, the possibility of neck irritation and buckle failure is reduced. To release the collar, squeeze buckle between thumb and finger and pull sharply.
Do NOT use on nursing animals or on cats under 8 weeks of age. Consult a veterinarian before using on sick, aged or pregnant animals or animals receiving drug or other pesticide treatment. Replace this collar no more than once every 12 months. Replace collar every 12 months for continual pest control in situations where there is an ongoing risk of pest infestation. RETAIN PACKAGING INFORMATION FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. Treatment must only be repeated if pest problem reoccurs.
For immediate relief from existing adult fleas on your pet, this collar may be used in conjunction with other Vet-Kem on-animal products designed to kill adult fleas. For effective flea control, treatment of the pet should be combined with sanitation of any area used by the pet. Vacuum floors, carpets and furniture (discard vacuum bag after use) and wash the pet’s bedding, living quarters and surrounding areas. If pest problems persist, an insecticidal treatment of the premises may be required (e. g. Vet-Kem Siphotrol® products). A veterinarian should be consulted when pest infestation continues to be a problem on the pet.
