tetracycline Hcl Is An Antibiotic Similar To Oxytetracycline And Chlortetracycline In Bacterial Spectrum. Tetracycline Is Rapidly Absorbed And Effective In The Treatment Of Many Diseases Due To Gram-positive And Gram-negative Bacteria, Spirochetes, Rickettsia, And Some Chlamydia.
indications
As an aid in the treatment of infections caused by or associated with micro-organisms sensitive to tetracycline HCl.
Chickens and Turkeys - As an aid for the treatment of C.R.D., bluecomb, cholera, enteritis and Hexamitiasis.
Swine, Calves, Sheep and Lambs - As an aid for the treatment of enteritis (diarrhea) and respiratory diseases.
Dosage & Administration
Chickens and Turkeys - 1 g of powder per 5 L of drinking water or 100 g per 500 L of water or 400 g per 2000 L of water for 3 to 5 days.
For Automatic Proportioner
Set the apparatus to distribute 30 mL per 4 L of drinking water (1 oz/gallon U.S.). Prepare the stock solution by dissolving 100 g in 3.8 L of water. This will medicate 500 L of drinking water or set the apparatus to distribute 15 mL per 4 L of water (1/2 oz/gallon U.S.). Prepare the stock solution by dissolving 400 g in 7.5 L of water. This will medicate 2,000 L of drinking water.Swine - 1 g of powder per 25 kg of body weight every 12 hours, given as a drench using a dose syringe or 2 g of powder per 4 L of drinking water or 100 g per 200 L of drinking water or 400 g per 800 L of water for 4 or 5 days.
For Automatic Proportioner
Set the apparatus to distribute 30 mL per 4 L of drinking water (1 oz/gallon U.S.). Prepare the stock solution by dissolving 200 g in 3 L of water or 400 g in 6 L of water. This will medicate 400 L and 800 L of drinking water.Calves (scours) - 1 g of powder per 50 kg of body weight every 12 hours, given as a drench in water or 100 g of powder per 225 L of water or 400 g per 900 L of water for 3 to 5 days.
Calves (respiratory diseases) - Double the above dosage.
Sheep and Lambs - 1 g of powder per 25 kg of body weight every 12 hours, given as a drench in water for 4 to 5 days.
NOTE
Only medicated drinking water should be provided during the treatment period and fresh solutions should be prepared daily. 1 teaspoon (5 mL) equals 4 g.
Storage
Store in a dry, cool place below 23°C.
Warning(s)
Treated animals and birds must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 5 days after the latest treatment with this drug. Do not feed to laying birds. Do not use in lactating dairy cattle.
