HORSE AND CATTLE DEWORMER

Warnings

Treated cattle must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 10 days after the latest treatment with this drug.

No milk withholding time is required when this drug is used according to the label directions. Do not use in horses to be slaughtered for use as food.

Keep out of reach of children.

Description

Each mL of Safe-Guard Suspension 10% contains:

Active Ingredient

100 mg of fenbendazole.

Safe-Guard Suspension 10% Indications

For the treatment of parasitic infections due to the following internal parasites:

Cattle:

Lungworm: Adult and 4th larval stage of Dictyocaulus viviparus.

Stomach worms: Adult and 4th larval stages of Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia ostertagi and the adult stage of Trichostrongylus axei.

Intestinal worms: Adult and 4th larval stages of Cooperia punctata, C. oncophora, C. pectinata, C. mcmasteri, Trichostrongylus colubriformis, Nematodirus helvetianus, Bunostomum phlebotomum, and Oesophagostomum radiatum.

Horses:

Large strongyles: Strongylus vulgaris, S. equinus, S. edentatus and Triodontophorus spp.

Small strongyles: Cyathostomum spp., Cylicocyclus spp. and Cylicostephanus spp.

Pinworms (Oxyuris equi), and ascarids (Parascaris equorum).*

Safe-Guard Suspension 10% Dosage And Administration

SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING.

The recommended dose is 5 mg of fenbendazole per kg of body weight for cattle and horses (10 mg/kg for foals under 18 months).

Administer orally to cattle and horses at the recommended rate of 2.5 mL/50 kg (2.5 mL/110 lb) body weight using a dosing syringe or drenching gun.

*Foals under 18 months of age require a dose of 5 mL/50 kg (5 mL/110 lb) for the treatment of ascarid infections.

The 500 mL format contains 50 000 mg of fenbendazole which is sufficient to treat 10 000 kg (22 000 lb) of animal weight at the 2.5 mL/50 kg dose.

The 3.785L format contains 378 500 mg of fenbendazole which is sufficient to treat 75 700 kg

(166 890 lb) of animal weight at the 2.5 mL/50 kg dose.

Storage

Store at room temperature below 25 °C. Protect from freezing.
