This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy, breeding swine, including pregnant sows and gilts, against reproductive failure caused by porcine parvovirus; respiratory disease caused by swine influenza A virus (SIV) types H1N1, H1N2, and H3N2; and disease caused by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Leptospira bratislava, L. canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. hardjo, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and L. pomona. A duration of immunity of at least 18 weeks has been demonstrated against E. rhusiopathiae. Duration of immunity against the remaining fractions has not been established. This product contains the following Influenza A Virus isolates:
A/Swine/Iowa/110600/2000 (H1N1); A/Swine/Oklahoma/0726H/2008 (H1N2);
A/Swine/North Carolina/394/2012 (H3N2); and
A/Swine/Minnesota/872/2012 (H3N2).
Directions For Use
Aseptically rehydrate the freeze-dried vaccine with the liquid component provided, shake well, and administer 2 mL intramuscularly. Healthy swine should receive 2 doses 3-5 weeks apart with the second dose administered 2-4 weeks prior to breeding. Healthy gilts, however, should receive the second dose as near as possible to 14 days prior to breeding. For advice on revaccination, consult a veterinarian or the manufacturer.
Precautions
Store at 2°-8°C. Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened or rehydrated. Sterilized syringes and needles should be used to administer this vaccine. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Contains gentamicin and thimerosal as preservatives. Temporary swelling at the injection site may be observed. As with many vaccines, anaphylaxis may occur after use. Initial antidote of epinephrine is recommended and should be followed with appropriate supportive therapy.
