Ectiban EC Caution

Precautionary Statements - Hazards To Humans And Domestic Animals

Harmful if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through skin. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Avoid breathing spray mist. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.

Environmental Hazards

The pesticide is extremely toxic to fish. Do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water by the cleaning of equipment or disposing of equipment washwaters. Apply this product only as specified on this label.

Physical Or Chemical Hazards

Do not use or store near heat or an open flame.

First Aid

If In Eyes

Hold eyes open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.

If On Skin Or Clothing

Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.

If Swallowed

Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

If Inhaled

Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call 911, or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably mouth to mouth if possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.

Note To Physician

Contains petroleum distillates. Vomiting may cause aspiration pneumonia.

Directions For Use

It is a violation of federal law to use the product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Apply Ectiban® According To The Following Table

Retreat as needed, but not more often than once every two (2) weeks. Use as needed on horses not intended for human consumption. Spray lactating dairy cows only after milking is completed.

1 qt to 2-1/2 gals water
(6 tbs/qt)

1 to 2 oz spray per animal. Spot treat back, face, legs and ears.

Self Oiler

1 qt to 10 gals diesel oil (6 tbs/gal)

Keep rubbing device charged. Results improved by daily forced use.

Poultry And Swine

Lice, Northern Fowl Mites, Mange

For swine allow 5 days between last treatment and slaughter.

Sprayer

1 qt to 25 gals water
(2-1/2 tbs/gal)

Poultry: 1 gal spray per 100 birds, paying particular attention to the vent.

Swine: Thoroughly soak, including ears. For mange, repeat at 14 days.

Spray walls and change bedding.

Premises-dairies, Barns, Feedlots, Stables, Poultry Houses, Swine And Livestock Housing

Houseflies, Stable Flies and Little Houseflies (Fannia spp.), Aids in control of Cockroaches, Ants, Spiders, Mosquitoes, Crickets and Face Flies

Spray to the point of run-off. As a guide, use 1 gal spray per 750 sq. ft. (400-1,400 sq. ft.).

Direct 4 oz onto 1000 sq. ft. of surface.

Overhead Space Spray System

1 qt to 10 gals diesel or mineral oil (6 tbs/gal)

4 oz spray per 1000 cu. ft. of air space.

Ready-to-Use

Direct 5 oz onto 1000 sq. ft. of surface concentrating on eaves, roof gables and attics. NOTE: This product is not recommended for use on vinyl or plastic surfaces.

Spray directly onto walls and ceiling as residue surface treatment only. Do not treat manure or litter. The use of any residual fly spray should be supplemented with proper manure management and general sanitation to reduce or eliminate fly breeding sites.

Storage And Disposal

Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal.

Storage: Store In A Cool Dry Place. pesticide Disposal

Pesticide wastes are toxic. Improper disposal of excess pesticide spray mixture or rinsate is a violation of Federal law. If these wastes cannot be disposed of by use according to label instructions, contact your State Pesticide or Environmental Control Agency or the hazardous waste representative at the nearest EPA Regional Office for guidance.

Container Disposal

Triple rinse (or equivalent). Then dispose of in a sanitary landfill or by incineration, or, if allowed by state and local authorities, by burning. If burned, stay out of smoke.
