This medicated feed contains 5 g (0.5%) of fenbendazole per kg of Diluted Safe-Guard^® Drug 20% Premix.

Beef And Dairy Cattle

Diluted Safe-Guard (fenbendazole 5 g/kg) Indications

For the treatment of parasitic infections due to the following internal parasites in cattle:

Lung worms: Adult and developing 4^th stage larvae of Dictyocaulus viviparus.

Stomach worms: Adults and developing 4^th stage larvae of Haemonchus contortus and Ostertagia ostertagi, and the adult stage of Trichostrongylus axei.

Intestinal worms: Adult and developing 4^th stage larvae of Cooperia punctata, C. oncophora, C. pectinata, C. mcmasteri, Trichostrongylus colubriformis, Nematodirus helvetianus, Bunostomum phlebotomum and Oesophagostomum radiatum.

Mixing And Feeding Directions

Diluted Safe-Guard^® Drug 20% Premix fed at a rate of 0.10 kg of crumbles for every 100 kg (220 lbs) of body weight will deliver the correct total dosage of fenbendazole to deworm your animal(s).

The following calculation can be used to determine the correct total dosage:

The level of fenbendazole to be incorporated in the complete feed is to be such that cattle will receive 5 mg fenbendazole per kilogram of body weight as a single dose or over a one to six day period for beef cattle, dairy heifers and dry dairy cows and administered to lactating dairy cattle as a single dose or divided and fed over a treatment period of four to six days.

Dosage Guide

Mix in the complete feed to supply the following amounts of Diluted Safe-Guard^® Drug 20% Premix.

One bag contains 22.68 g of fenbendazole which is sufficient to treat 4,536 kg (10,000 lbs) of cattle.

Cautions

1. Do not use in feeds containing pellet binding agents.

2. Consult a veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasites.

3. When the above mixing and feeding directions are followed, each animal will receive 5 mg of fenbendazole per kilogram of body weight.

Warnings

1. Treated cattle must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 13 days after the last treatment with this drug at the recommended dose of 5 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight.

2. No milk withholding time is required when the drug is used at the recommended dose of 5 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight.

3. Keep out of reach of children.

Swine

Diluted Safe-Guard (fenbendazole 5 g/kg) Indications

For the treatment of parasitic infections due to the following internal parasites in growing pigs, sows, gilts and boars:

Lung worms: Adult stage larvae of Metastrongylus apri and M. pudendotectus.

Small stomach worms: Adult stage larvae of Hyostrongylus rubidus.

Intestinal worms: Adult and developing larval stages of the roundworm Ascaris suum, the whipworm Trichuris suis and the adult stage of the nodular worm Oesophagostomum dentatum.

Mixing And Feeding Directions

Diluted Safe-Guard^® Drug 20% Premix administered at 0.0018 kg of crumbles/kg animal weight will deliver the total dose of fenbendazole required to deworm your animal. Feed the total dose (equivalent to 9 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight) over a period of 3 to 12 days as the sole medicated feed. The following calculation can be used to determine the correct total dosage:

Daily amount of Diluted Safe-Guard^® 20% Premix to be added to the ration can be calculated by simply dividing the total dosage calculated above by the total number of days fed.

Dosage Guide

Mix in the complete feed to supply the following amounts of Diluted Safe-Guard^® Drug 20% Premix.

One bag contains 22.68 g of fenbendazole which is sufficient to treat 2,520 kg (5,555 lbs) of swine.

Cautions

1. Do not use in feed containing pellet binding agents.

2. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasites.

3. No prior withdrawal of feed or water is necessary.

4. No other medicated feed should be administered during the period of time when Diluted Safe-Guard^® drug 20% Premix is fed.

5. If 3 kg per 100 kg of live body weight of the pigs being treated is not sufficient to maintain the animals for 24 hours, additional non-medicated feed may be offered to appetite.

6. When the above mixing and feeding directions are followed, each pig will receive 9 mg fenbendazole per kg of live body weight during the 3-12 day treatment period.

Warnings

1. No withdrawal period is required for swine when treated at the recommended dose of 9 mg fenbendazole per kg body weight over a period of 3 to 12 days.

2. Keep out of reach of children.
