(Pour-On for Beef and Dairy Cattle)
DIN 02228386
Veterinary Use Only
(Each mL contains 5 mg of moxidectin)
For the treatment of infections and infestations due to internal and external parasites in cattle, including lactating dairy cows.
External Use Only
Introduction
CYDECTIN Pour-On contains moxidectin, a second generation endectocide of the milbemycin class of compounds. It is highly effective when administered at a dosage of 0.5 mg/kg body weight against a broad range of economically important endoparasites and ectoparasites that infect beef and dairy cattle, including lactating dairy cows.
Mode of action studies indicate that CYDECTIN eliminates parasites by causing paralysis through interfering with neurotransmission of the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-gated or glutamate-gated chloride channels.
Composition
CYDECTIN Pour-On comes ready to use as a violet solution containing 5 mg/mL (0.5% w/v) moxidectin.

Persistent Activity
CYDECTIN Pour-On prevents reinfection with Haemonchus placei for 14 days, Oesophagostomum radiatum, and Ostertagia ostergagi for at least 28 days and Dictycocaulus viviparus for at least 42 days following a single application at the recommended dose.
Research data, based on faecal nematode egg output (EPG counts), lice counts and controlled rainfall simulation, indicate that the application of the pour-on formulation to wet skin or application prior to a typical rain event does not affect the efficacy of the product.
