Description

Coverage 256 is a research-developed, concentrated, hard water effective, serum effective, broad spectrum germicidal detergent for simultaneous cleaning, disinfection, and deodorization. With its fine detergents and 600 ppm potent quaternary ammonium chloride germicide, Coverage 256 solution simultaneously cleans, disinfects and deodorizes any washable environmental hard surfaces such as walls, equipment, furniture, chrome, stainless steel, porcelain, glass, tile, washable painted or varnished surfaces, terrazzo, resilient vinyl, asphalt, linoleum, and rubber floors. Coverage 256 is intended for use in health care facilities, pharmaceutical and medical device processing areas, food processing and preparation facilities, animal husbandry, poultry and feed processing facilities, veterinary clinics, animal research facilities and in cosmetic facilities.

This product has shown to be effective at a 1:250 solution by A.O.A.C. Use Dilution in 400 ppm hard water (as CaCO3) with 5% organic soil (serum) added, against the following organisms: Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, Bordetella avium, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Campylobacter jejuni, Candida albicans, Candida parapsilosis, Citrobacter freundii, Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Listeria monocytogenes, Mycoplasma gallisepticum, Pasteurella multocida, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas cepacia, Salmonella choleraesuis, Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella typhimurium, Serratia marcescens, Shigella flexneri, Shigella sonnei, Staphylococcus aureus (Antibiotic Resistant), Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus faecalis, Streptococcus pyogenes, T. Mentagrophytes, Parainfluenza, Herpes Simplex 1 and 2, Influenza A (Japan), Vaccinia, Coronavirus, Paramyxovirus, Adenovirus, Herpes Virus, Influenza Virus, Retrovirus, Picornovirus, and Orthomyxovirus.

Passes Virucidal Qualification Test at a 1:62 solution in 400 ppm hard water (as CaCO3) with 5% organic soil (serum) added, Parvovirus and Calicivirus.

ODOR CONTROL: Eliminates most odors by killing odor-causing bacteria, chemically neutralizing their odors and cleaning unpleasant-smelling soils.

SOLUTION PREPARATION: Measure water into bucket. Using a One-Stroke Dispenser Pump, to produce a 1:250 solution add one stroke (32 mL), up and down, for each 8 litres of solution. To produce a 1:62 solution, add one stroke (32 mL), up and down, for each 2 litres of solution. Always add Coverage 256 to pre-measured water. Mix gently. Discard solution when it becomes dirty and replace it with a fresh solution. Coverage 256 is a complete product. If frozen, thaw and remix before use.

HOSPITAL DISINFECTION: With a cloth, sponge mop or brush, apply Coverage 256 solution prepared as directed above. Thoroughly wet all surfaces to be cleaned, rub to loosen soils, allow for a 10-minute contact time, then remove excess solution with a wrung-out applicator. Always remove gross filth mechanically by sweeping before applying Coverage 256 solution.

FOOD PREPARATION AND PROCESSING FACILITY CLEANING AND DISINFECTION: Remove or cover all food and packaging materials to avoid contamination. Remove all loose soils. Using a cloth, sponge mop or brush, saturate all surfaces with Coverage 256 at a 1:250 solution prepared as directed above. Scrub to loosen soils. Allow to soak for 10 minutes at 20-25°C. Thoroughly rinse all wetted and cleaned surfaces with potable water after disinfection.

AGRICULTURAL FACILITY CLEANING AND DISINFECTION: Remove or cover all food, foodstuffs, packaging materials and livestock. Remove all litter, manure and other debris from floors and walls; scrape if necessary. Empty all troughs, racks and other feeding and watering appliances. Saturate all surfaces with Coverage 256 solution. Allow for a 10-minute contact time. Scrub to loosen soils. Rinse feeders and waterers with potable water. Drain all surfaces and allow to air-dry. Ventilate buildings before use or rehousing livestock.

FOGGING AS AN ADJUNCT TO REGULAR CLEANING AND DISINFECTING: This product may be used in fogging (wet misting) as an adjunct either preceding or following regular cleaning and disinfecting procedures in agriculture, animal research, industrial and institutional facilities. Use a 1:250 dilution (4 mL per liter). Fog the desired area at 1 to 2 liters of use dilution per 30 cubic meters using equipment with an automatic timer. Do not remain in treated areas; allow at least two hours after fogging is complete before reentering fogged area. Before fogging remove or carefully protect all food and packaging materials with waterproof coverings. Treated food contact surfaces must be thoroughly scrubbed with this product at a 1:250 dilution and rinsed with potable water before reuse.

Disposal

Rinse the emptied container thoroughly and add the rinsings to the spray mixture in the tank. Follow provincial instructions for any required additional cleaning of the container prior to its disposal. Make the empty container unsuitable for further use. Dispose of the container in accordance with provincial requirements. For information on the disposal of unused, unwanted product and the cleanup of spills, contact the regional office of Conservation and Protection, Environment Canada. For small spills, recover free liquid. Soak up residue with solids absorbent. DO NOT FLUSH INTO SURFACE STREAMS. INFORM ENVIRONMENT CANADA.

Precautions

Concentrate is corrosive. Causes eye and skin damage. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Wear goggles or face shield and rubber gloves when handling concentrate. Harmful if swallowed. Keep out of reach of children.

FIRST AID: Eyes - Immediately flush eyes with water for 15 minutes and get medical attention. Skin - Flush thoroughly with water. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse. If swallowed - Drink a large quantity of milk, egg white, gelatin solution or water. Avoid alcohol. Do NOT induce vomiting. Call physician immediately.

TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION: Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage. Measures against circulatory shock, respiratory depression and convulsion may be needed.
