GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

For Use as a Feed Additive: Fondel Copper Sulfate is a valuable source of dietary copper in mixed feeds for agricultural animals. As the addition rates of Copper Sulfate can vary for different animals in different states and provinces, consult with an animal nutritionist for direction before using as a trace mineral in animal feed premixes.

CAUTION: Sheep have a low tolerance for copper. Concentrations beneficial to other animals have been shown to be toxic to sheep. Use extreme caution when adding to feeds intended for sheep.

For Use as a Fertilizer Additive: Fondel Copper Sulfate is a valuable copper supplement in mixed fertilizers and soil conditioners. Consult your State or Provincial Department of Agriculture for guidance in preparing dosages and formulas.

For Use as an Industrial Chemical: Fondel Copper Sulfate can be used in many non-pesticide industrial applications, such as a froth flotation activator for zinc and lead ores, in electroplating and electroless plating of metals and plastics, as a raw material for chemical reagents and copper salts, as a battery electrolyte, metal marking inks and anti-rust formulations. Fondel Copper Sulfate may also be used as a mordant in the textile and leather industries, as an ingredient in pigments and as a coloring agent in fireworks and fire logs.

For Use as a Footbath for Cattle: Fondel Copper Sulfate can be used in a 2% to 5% solution (by weight) with immersion lasting between 5 and 20 minutes, once or twice daily, for a period as prescribed by your veterinarian. Know the volume of the hoof bath and calculate the amount of Copper Sulfate carefully. Do not give in to the temptation of using more Copper Sulfate than what is recommended by your veterinarian. By placing a clean water bath in front of the treatment bath, animals will clean their hooves to some extent and keep the treatment bath cleaner, longer. Hoof baths should only be part of an overall hoof health program that includes proper nutrition, regular hoof trimming and hoof injury prevention. Keep animals out of wet, muddy or stony areas where their hooves can soften and be injured.

IMPORTANT: Animals should not drink the Copper Sulfate solution from the hoof bath nor eat the Copper Sulfate crystal as Copper Sulfate is highly toxic. CAUTION: Sheep have a low tolerance for copper. Use extreme caution when using Copper Sulphate in hoof baths, especially for sheep.
