First Aid

Have label with you when obtaining treatment advice.

If In Eyes

Immediately flush with cool water. Remove contact lenses, if applicable, and continue flushing for 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention immediately.

If On Skin Or On Clothing

Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists.

If Swallowed

Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water, then drink one or two glasses of water. Do not give anything by mouth if victim is unconscious or is convulsing.

If Inhaled

Move person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth, if possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.

Have the product container or label with you when calling a poison control center or doctor or going for treatment.

BioSentry^® Chlor-A-Foam™ Cleaner and Descaler is a high foaming product that rapidly removes protein, fat and other organic soils from surfaces. It can be used through a variety of foam generating equipment as well as in pressure washers.

BioSentry^® Chlor-A-Foam™ is used for cleaning hatchers, setters, equipment, egg rooms, chick boxes, walls, floors and refuse areas in poultry hatcheries. In poultry and meat processing plants, it is used for cleaning equipment, shackles, walls, floors and refuse areas. It is excellent for stainless steel, concrete, plastic, glass, tile and other surfaces. It is compatible with quaternary and phenolic disinfectants.

Precautionary Statements

DANGER: Contains highly alkaline materials, potassium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. This product is intended to be diluted before using. Causes eye and skin burns. May cause nose and throat irritation. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Avoid breathing vapour or spray mist. Always wear proper eye protection and proper protective clothing when using this or any chemical products. Keep container tightly closed. Use and store only with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Chemical And Physical Hazards

This product is a formulated alkaline detergent solution; contamination with other materials such as acids, amines or ammonia bearing compounds, etc., may cause a dangerous chemical reaction. Keep all chemical and foreign materials away from this solution. Keep away from excessive heat.

Toxic material. Corrosive material.

Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wear rubber gloves and chemical splash goggles. Keep out of reach of children.

Directions For Use

FOAM CLEANING: Use BioSentry^® Chlor-A-Foam™ at 1.75% - 3% solution (2 to 4 ounces per gallon of water) (16-32 ml/litre) through a suitable foam generator. This concentration will clean most soils effectively. For unusually heavy soils, use a 4% - 5% solution to clean (5-6 ounces per gallon of water) (40-48 ml/litre). Contact a BioSentry^® Technical Representative for suitable equipment recommendations.

Foam the cleaning solution on the surfaces to be cleaned. Allow foam to work for 5-10 minutes and flush soils away with water under pressure.

PRESSURE WASHING: Dilute product to 0.75% solution (1 ounce per gallon of water) (8 ml/litre) and apply to surfaces to be cleaned as a soft spray. Thoroughly soak surfaces. Allow cleaner to act on surfaces for 5 to 10 minutes. Then wash away soils with a high-pressure water wand. Disinfect areas requiring it with a compatible disinfecting solution.

FOOD PROCESSING EQUIPMENT, UTENSILS AND OTHER FOOD CONTACT SURFACES: Clean as above. Thoroughly rinse cleaned surfaces with potable water before they are reused. Where recommended or permitted, apply a sanitizer solution to food contact surfaces before reuse. Avoid contamination of food during application and storage.

NOTE:

- Do not use on soft metals such as aluminum and brass.

- This product is not recommended for manual cleaning operations. If some manual cleaning must be done wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Storage And Disposal

Store in original container, in areas inaccessible to children. Store in a cool place. Keep container tightly closed. Do not store on side. Avoid creasing or impacting of side walls. Do not reuse empty container. Discard in trash or recycle.
