Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking balsam peru / castor oil / trypsin topical: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Treating a skin wound may increase your risk of developing an infection in your blood. Call your doctor at once if you have any signs of infection, such as:

fever or chills;

rapid breathing, gasping for breath;

fast heart rate;

warmth under your skin; or
-
unusual weakness.
Less serious side effects are more likely, such as mild stinging or burning where the medicine is applied.
