Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking dihydrocodeine / guaifenesin: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop taking this medication and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

• fast or uneven heart rate;

• feeling like you might pass out;

• confusion, hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior;

• severe dizziness or drowsiness, feeling irritable;

• shallow breathing, slow heartbeat;

• painful or difficult urination; or

• seizure (convulsions).

Less serious side effects of dihydrocodeine / guaifenesin may include:

• dizziness, drowsiness, headache;

• constipation;

• increased sweating;

• nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, mild loss of appetite;

• feeling excited or restless;

• sleep problems (insomnia);

• warmth, tingling, or redness under your skin; or

• skin rash or itching.
