Applies to dextran, high molecular weight: intrauterine solution.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking dextran, high molecular weight (the active ingredient contained in Dextran-HM) hives or skin rash; stuffy nose, wheezing, chest tightness; feeling like you might pass out; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Tell your caregiver right away if you have:

• weak or shallow breathing; or

• a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out.

Common side effects may include:

• nausea, vomiting;

• joint pain;

• fever; or

• pain, swelling, or bruising along the vein where the medicine was injected.
