For the Consumer
Applies to cholecalciferol: oral capsule, oral liquid, oral solution, oral tablet, oral tablet chewable, oral wafer
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking cholecalciferol (the active ingredient contained in Delta D3) hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop taking cholecalciferol and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

thinking problems, changes in behavior, feeling irritable;

urinating more than usual;

chest pain, feeling short of breath; or
-
early signs of vitamin D overdose (weakness, metallic taste in your mouth, weight loss, muscle or bone pain, constipation, nausea, and vomiting).

Metabolic
Early signs and symptoms of hypercalcemia include headache, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, metallic taste, constipation, abdominal cramps, dry mouth, weakness, fatigue, muscle and bone pain, ataxia, tinnitus, and vertigo. Later hypercalcemia may result in pruritus, mental confusion, coma, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, seizures, metastatic calcification, and renal insufficiency manifested by polyuria, nocturia, polydipsia, and proteinuria.
Metabolic side effects have included hypercalcemia.
