If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Hydrocortisone Solution while you are pregnant. It is not known if Hydrocortisone Solution is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Hydrocortisone Solution, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Hydrocortisone Pregnancy Warnings
Hydrocortisone has not been assigned to an FDA pregnancy category. Animal studies involving corticosteroids have revealed evidence of an increased incidence of cleft palate in offspring. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy, however, corticosteroids have been used during human pregnancy without evidence of teratogenicity. Hydrocortisone should be given during pregnancy only when benefit outweighs risk.
Hydrocortisone Lactation Warnings
There are no data on the excretion of hydrocortisone into human milk. Some corticosteroids are excreted into human milk in small amounts. The manufacturer recommends against the use of pharmacologic doses of hydrocortisone by nursing women.
