What is piroxicam (peroxicam)?

Piroxicam (peroxicam) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), used to relieve the inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis (the most common form of arthritis). Exactly how it works is not known. Piroxicam (peroxicam) may block certain substances in the body that are linked to inflammation. NSAIDs treat the symptoms of pain and inflammation. They do not treat the disease that causes those symptoms.

Piroxicam (peroxicam)is used for both sudden flare-ups and for long-term treatment.
