Drug Interactions between sufentanil and Urised
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- sufentanil
- Urised (benzoic acid/hyoscyamine/methenamine/methylene blue/phenyl salicylate)
Interactions between your drugs
SUFentanil methylene blue
Applies to: sufentanil and Urised (benzoic acid / hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate)
Using SUFentanil together with methylene blue may rarely increase the risk of serious side effects such as respiratory depression, low blood pressure, fainting, coma, and even death. In general, it is best to wait at least 14 days after stopping methylene blue before you start treatment with SUFentanil. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may already be aware of the risks, but has determined that this is the best course of treatment for you and has taken appropriate precautions and is monitoring you closely for any potential complications. You should avoid the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Also avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how your medications affect you, and do not exceed the dosage or frequency of use prescribed by your doctor. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
SUFentanil hyoscyamine
Applies to: sufentanil and Urised (benzoic acid / hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate)
Using SUFentanil together with hyoscyamine may increase the risk and/or severity of some side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, difficulty concentrating, difficulty urinating, dry mouth, abdominal cramping, and constipation. Some people, especially the elderly, may also experience impairment in thinking, judgment, and motor coordination. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Also avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
SUFentanil food
Applies to: sufentanil
Do not use alcohol or medications that contain alcohol while you are receiving treatment with SUFentanil. This may increase nervous system side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, difficulty concentrating, and impairment in thinking and judgment. In severe cases, low blood pressure, respiratory distress, fainting, coma, or even death may occur. With certain long-acting formulations of narcotic pain medication, consumption of alcohol may also cause rapid release of the drug, resulting in high blood levels that may be potentially lethal. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions on how to take this or other medications you are prescribed. Do not use more than the recommended dose of SUFentanil, and avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medication without first talking to your doctor.
hyoscyamine food
Applies to: Urised (benzoic acid / hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate)
Ask your doctor before using hyoscyamine together with ethanol. Use alcohol cautiously. Alcohol may increase drowsiness and dizziness while you are taking hyoscyamine. You should be warned not to exceed recommended dosages and to avoid activities requiring mental alertness. If your doctor prescribes these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment to safely take this combination. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
