Drug Interactions between eliglustat and entrectinib
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- eliglustat
- entrectinib
Interactions between your drugs
eliglustat entrectinib
Applies to: eliglustat and entrectinib
Before using eliglustat, you should have received a test to determine your CYP450 2D6 genotype, which lets the doctor know whether or not you can take the medication and at what dosage. Depending on your CYP450 2D6 genotype and what other medications you may be on, using eliglustat together with entrectinib may not be recommended at all, or a dosage adjustment of eliglustat may be needed. Treatment with entrectinib can increase the blood levels of eliglustat. This may increase the risk of serious and potentially life-threatening cardiac side effects such as irregular heart rhythm, heart block, and cardiac arrest. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may already be aware of the interaction, but has determined that this is the best course of treatment for you and has taken appropriate precautions and is monitoring you closely for any potential complications. You should seek immediate medical attention if you develop sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, slow heart rate, weak pulse, or heart palpitations during treatment with eliglustat. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
eliglustat food
Applies to: eliglustat
Do not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice during treatment with eliglustat unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Grapefruit juice can increase the blood levels of eliglustat to dangerous levels. This may increase the risk of serious and potentially life-threatening cardiac side effects such as irregular heart rhythm, heart block, and cardiac arrest. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. You should seek immediate medical attention if you develop sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, slow heart rate, weak pulse, or heart palpitations during treatment. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
entrectinib food
Applies to: entrectinib
Do not consume grapefruit, grapefruit juice, or Seville oranges during treatment with entrectinib. Doing so can significantly increase the blood levels of entrectinib and increase the risk and/or severity of side effects such as dizziness; confusion; hallucinations; problems with concentration, attention, thinking, and memory; mood changes; insomnia; drowsiness; liver problems; increased uric acid levels in the blood (hyperuricemia); congestive heart failure; fluid retention and swelling; changes in electrical activity of the heart (a condition known as QT prolongation, which may lead to irregular heart rhythm that can be life-threatening); vision problems; and low red or white blood cell counts. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
