Drug Interactions between dimethyl fumarate and Urised
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- dimethyl fumarate
- Urised (benzoic acid/hyoscyamine/methenamine/methylene blue/phenyl salicylate)
Interactions between your drugs
phenyl salicylate dimethyl fumarate
Applies to: Urised (benzoic acid / hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate) and dimethyl fumarate
Limited evidence suggests that dimethyl fumarate may have the potential to cause kidney damage, and using it with other medications that can also affect the kidney, such as phenyl salicylate, may increase the risk. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. Let your doctor know if you experience signs and symptoms of kidney damage such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, increased or decreased urination, sudden weight gain or loss, fluid retention, swelling, shortness of breath, muscle cramps, tiredness, weakness, dizziness, confusion, and/or irregular heart rhythm. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
hyoscyamine food
Applies to: Urised (benzoic acid / hyoscyamine / methenamine / methylene blue / phenyl salicylate)
Ask your doctor before using hyoscyamine together with ethanol. Use alcohol cautiously. Alcohol may increase drowsiness and dizziness while you are taking hyoscyamine. You should be warned not to exceed recommended dosages and to avoid activities requiring mental alertness. If your doctor prescribes these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment to safely take this combination. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
