traMADol pexidartinib

Pexidartinib may decrease the blood levels of traMADol, which may make traMADol less effective in treating your condition. In addition, stopping use of pexidartinib may increase the risk of side effects from traMADol, including, seizures, respiratory depression, and a rare but serious condition called serotonin syndrome, which may include symptoms such as confusion, hallucinations, seizures, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, muscle spasm or stiffness, tremor, incoordination, stomach cramp, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Severe cases may result in coma and even death. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

You may experience reduced absorption of pexidartinib in the presence of food. Pexidartinib should be taken on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication. Also, while taking pexidartinib, you should avoid grapefruits and grapefruit juice. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice can raise the levels of pexidartinib in your body and lead to potentially dangerous adverse effects. Do not increase or decrease the amount of grapefruit products in your diet without first talking to your doctor. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of traMADol such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment.
