Cholestyramine may interfere with the absorption of ethinyl estradiol when these medications are taken at the same time. This may reduce the blood levels and effects of ethinyl estradiol. To prevent or minimize the interaction, ethinyl estradiol should be taken at least 1 hour before or 4 to 6 hours after the cholestyramine dose. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or your symptoms worsen during treatment with these medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Multivitamin with minerals should be administered at least 4 hours before cholestyramine.
