Usual Adult Dose for Respiratory Syncytial Virus

Recommended dose: 0.5 mL intramuscularly as a single dose.

Use(s): For active immunization for the prevention of lower respiratory tract disease (LRTD) caused by respiratory syncytial virus in individuals 60 years of age and older.

Precautions

CONTRAINDICATIONS: History of severe allergic reaction to any component of the vaccine.

Safety and efficacy have not been established in patients younger than 60 years.

Administration advice:

• For intramuscular administration only.

Storage requirements:

• Administer immediately or store in the refrigerator between 2C and 8C (36F to 46F) or at room temperature for up to 4 hours prior to use.
• Protect vials from light.
• Discard reconstituted vaccine if not used within 4 hours.
• Do not freeze. Discard if the vaccine is frozen.
