Acetaminophen / Phenyltoloxamine / Salicylamide Dosage

Applies to the following strengths: 300 mg-20 mg-200 mg

Usual Adult Dose for Pain

1 or 2 capsules or tablets every 4 hours.
Maximum Dose: 8 tablets or capsules per day.

Usual Geriatric Dose for Pain

1 or 2 capsules or tablets every 4 hours.
Maximum Dose: 8 tablets or capsules per 24 hours.
This drug may be eliminated more slowly than in younger adults. Prolonged use in excessive doses can cause anemia, liver damage with jaundice, and kidney damage.

Usual Pediatric Dose for Pain

<6 years:
Safety and effectiveness have not been established.

>=6 years to <12 years:
One half tablet to 1 tablet or capsule every 4 hours.
Maximum Dose: 4 tablets or capsules per 24 hours.

>=12 years:
1 or 2 capsules or tablets every 4 hours.
Maximum Dose: 8 tablets or capsules per 24 hours.

Renal Dose Adjustments

This combination product is not recommended for use in the treatment of patients with renal dysfunction.

Liver Dose Adjustments

This combination product is not recommended for use in the treatment of patients with liver dysfunction.

Precautions

If pain persists for more than two days, or if redness is present, a physician should be consulted.

Children and teenagers should not use this medication for chicken pox or flu symptoms before a doctor is consulted about Reye syndrome.

Dialysis

This combination product is not recommended for use in the treatment of patients receiving dialysis.
