Chorex Disease Interactions

There are 2 disease interactions with Chorex (chorionic gonadotropin (hcg)).

Major

HCG (applies to Chorex) androgen- dependent neoplasm

Major Potential Hazard, High plausibility. Applicable conditions: Prostate Cancer

The use of chorionic gonadotropin is contraindicated for use in patients with prostatic or other androgen- dependent neoplasm. HCG activity is identical to that of luteinizing hormone (LH) and, to a small degree, that of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), resulting in production of androgens by the testis.

Moderate

Chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) (applies to Chorex) volume overload

Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Fluid Retention, Congestive Heart Failure, Migraine, Seizures, Renal Dysfunction

Chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) induction of androgen secretion can result in fluid retention. Therapy with chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) should be administered cautiously in patients adversely affected by sodium and water retention such as patients with cardiac or renal disease, epilepsy, migraine or asthma.

Drug Interaction Classification

These classifications are only a guideline. The relevance of a particular drug interaction to a specific individual is difficult to determine. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting or stopping any medication.
Major Highly clinically significant. Avoid combinations; the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefit.
Moderate Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Minor Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.
Unknown No interaction information available.
