Cosentyx (secukinumab) "Experience is different for everyone. I started taking prefilled pen injections for over a year and it is a miracle worker. I had severe psoriasis that affected my life and prevented me from being happy. It covered everywhere, legs, arms, head etc. This medication my doctor gave made it ENTIRELY go away. No more constant creams, just once a month injections and I'm free. The only side effect I have is getting respiratory sicknesses more often (which is to be expected and warned about). But nothing that I couldn't handle. The pros outweigh the cons by a lot and I'm so thankful to the scientists and doctors that made this possible."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "Cosentyx has changed my life. I had terrible psoriasis for years. My head was red and every one could see. My knees had it so bad they would bleed. I couldn't wear shorts because it looked so bad and I was humiliated explaining to people what psoriasis was, EVERY TIME. It was really hard on me. I tried everything. I went to many doctors and they all gave me expensive products that barely worked, and only for a short time. As soon as I was put on Cosentyx, my knees were completely cleared, my embarrassing red forehead cleared 100% I have been on it for about a year and haven't had one flair up. I understand it may have different results for everyone, but I was willing to try anything to get rid of the pain and scuffing,I'm so glad I tried this"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "First sign of Guttate psoriasis in my twenties then really nothing again until 40’s. Ten years of individual cortisone shots into about 30 to 50 pencil eraser spots every 6 weeks kept it somewhat at bay. Dermatologist retired, new young guy said no more of that! Embrel, Humira, light treatment of no help. 58 and clear for a year on Cosentyx. My worry is if and when it will quit working."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I was taking methotrexate for my psoriasis on my hands for several months and my hands were almost clean but I felt like I had the flu all the time so I started using Cosentyx and after 6 weeks my fingers are splitting again and they are in worse shape than before I started taking the methotrexate. I don’t want to go back to methotrexate!"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I have been on Cosentyx for 5+ years and have never had a flare up. I still have some psoriasis on my ears and one tiny spot on my derriere which can be taken care of if I put a little cream on those spots."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I went from 90% covered in Psoriasis to less than 1%... like a miracle drug... No side effects... 2 injections given around the navel area once per month. It was an easy injection and does not hurt...."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "Best medication I have had for severe psoriasis and I’ve had the condition for 16 years. I am 100% clear having used this medication like clockwork for 6 months. Injections can be a bit uncomfortable but the autoinjectors make it so easy to use. Bad part is my insurance from UHC won’t cover it, good news is Novartis have covered me for 2 years."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I have use cosentyx for 7 months . my rash /redness around my back and belly is gone. The red area around my upper legs was 90% gone have had a return of sores/rough skin covering about 20% of cleared area. My shedding/flaking went away but had started to return. the heavy duty scaling on shins never went away fully and now is back with a vengeance . head and ears cleared up nicely no redness or shedding. If this was the only drug out there I would still use it but I am going to try one of the new drugs when my insurance says they will cover it partially ."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I have been taking Cosentyx for about 4 months now. My dosage is two 150 mg injections every 4 weeks. I'm not afraid of needles at all, but these injections hurt. Cosentyx started clearing up my psoriasis within the first week or so and has really helped control it, although I still need topical ointments as well. I need to get back in to the doctor as I have been dealing with a skin breakout that I believe is due to Cosentyx. They are acne/tiny blisters on my fingers that are itchy, sore, dries out my skin and make it heat sensitive. Also, the drug comes with a warning about infections and go figure, I get a cold that has developed into an upper respiratory infection. I'm pretty sure I will have to try a different medication to help control my psoriasis."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "Easy to use. It seems to cause fever blisters but has cleared up my Guttate psoriasis. It is easy to inject and I am happy with it so far. The only side effect so far are fever blisters, injecting once a month."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "After starting my Cosentyx, I have had a big reduction in my psoriasis symptoms. My ears are 50-75% clearer. My scalp is not scaly and flaking, so in turn I'm not picking it a lot of the time. I still have psoriasis pimples showing up but not as severe. They are about 50% better. My dosage is now 300 mg (2 injection pens) every 4 weeks. I am not scared of needles and have always watched any injections I was able to see. These are painful and have a big needle, so I do not watch my injections. As of now, I have been on Cosentyx for about 6 weeks and have developed an annoying itch on my upper body and scalp. I am unsure if the itching is from the medicine or not, as it has already been 6 weeks since starting it."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "After years of trying multiple routine psoriasis medications, I asked my MD about trying a biologic. However, I was concerned about infection since I've been HIV+ for over 40 years now. Regardless, we felt my immune system was fine after many tests over the years checking for immunity damage. After the second month of treatment, the psoriasis totally cleared. I consider this a cure. I've not had any side effects after taking it for over a year. Of course, working with your MD, I particularly hope my experience helps someone hesitant because of HIV+."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I have just recently started Cosentyx injections on 7th Feb. I've done the starter pack for 4 weeks which was 2 injections per week and now the monthly dose of 2 injections per month. I've had a few side effects including headaches, tiredness, weight gain, night sweats, mouth sores, and frequent urination without burning. I'm trying to give this medicine a chance to get positive results from pustular psoriasis on my foot as the blisters are unbearable and painful. I can't even walk when I have a flare but I'm praying this medicine will help me."

"I have the worst pustular psoriasis my doctors have ever seen and it covered my entire body. Scapho has helped after just a few weeks and iv been good ever since. Iv been using 300mg monthly for about a year now. It is really easy to inject I don't see any other side effects. My life is finally back to what it was."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "Tried this for rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, severe psoriasis. Initially got worse, especially psoriasis. After 3 injections I started to feel better, psoriasis was going away. Only side effect was minor nausea. After a few months my psoriasis cleared up completely. Psoriasis that covered over 80% of my body. Gone. Then the issues. Joint pain, severe fatigue set in. I'm not sure if fatigue was med related or disease related. After not tolerating pain, after 6 months I was off the drug on to the next. I have been on remicade, humara, cosentyx, simponi aria, and now cimzia. Remicade was by far the best but after many years I developed antibodies. All these drugs failed. I'm now on cimzia we will see... All biologics work different for people! Remember that! What may work for you may not work for others. If you had side effects that doesn't others will. If you have psoriasis-psoriatic arthritis, I would skip everything and try cosentyx."
