Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "My husband went in for his latest check up at the end of March. His EF was holding steady at 29% after being diagnosed with heart failure in 2013. Rhythm was great. Doctor suggested he try Entresto. So 2 days later, after he stopped his ACE inhibitor, he started taking Entresto. 4 days after that he said he felt his heart beating weird. It wasn’t aFIB like he’s had before. So we scheduled another appointment with his doctor. He didn’t make it. Passed away on April 11th. He was fine and stable until taking this medication, now he is gone. I dig around with the help of my friend, who is a nurse, and I find this study they did on Entresto, where it shows a small amount of patients experienced something called a Ventricular Arrhythmic Storm, which causes sudden cardiac death. No mention of this anywhere in the side effects nor did our doctor tell us to keep an eye out for such things. Fair warning to those taking it."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "I was given Entresto when they said my EF was 30-35. Had to fight with the insurance to get them to cover it. Was told by cardiologist it was a miracle drug and would add years to my life. The first few months were ok but my blood pressure kept getting lower and lower. Was told by cardiologist not to take morning dose if the upper number was under 100. That was all the time. I was dizzy all the time, falling constantly. Started having chest pains and episodes of confusion. Went to cardiologist, was told they didn’t know what was wrong. My husband was having to help me walk everywhere we went. Was so tired, I couldn’t do housework, laundry or anything. Made the decision on my own to stop taking the Entresto. Within a week, I was a completely different person. Energy level is up, dizziness is gone, quality of life has returned. Entresto was one of the worst experiences of my life. Changing cardiologist. Entresto was a nightmare for me."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "I was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy in July 2018, I was 43 years old and had been fit and healthy prior to this. My EF was between 15-20 and I was so ill I felt like my life was near to the end. With two young children I have never been so scared or felt so terrible in all of my life. It took a long time to get my diagnosis and my Cardiologist believes it was probably a virus that created the problem. I started on Entresto soon after my diagnosis and approximately 6 months later I went for another echo. I knew I felt better but I was shocked at my results. My heart had returned to within normal dimensions and my EF was 60. I think even my Cardiologist was surprised at how well I had done. I do however make sure I do lots of cardiovascular exercise and I have made changes to my diet for the better. I feel like a new woman and despite being worried about taking medication long term, I am so very grateful for Entresto. It's been my miracle drug."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 08/2018, (class 4 stage) found out after I had heart attack. I was also diagnosed with high blood pressure,I was 57 at that time, I started taking entresto in 10/2018, went for check up of heart in Feb 2019, results can back with no signs of heart failure, my EF was at 33% when diagnosed, its now back to normal between 60-65% I did change my diet completely, I no longer add salt, also check labels for hidden sodium (it is everywhere!) I exercise 30-45 mins. daily, and eat mainly a plant based diet with chicken breast and fish a few days a week. I give the glory to God first, my family for helping me along the way, and to a caring , cardiologist! Not sure if Entresto helped much but I have not had any side effect , and I was told by emergency room staff that my condition looked "grim" I also take coq10 it gives me added energy.(also, was able to stop taking 2 prescription meds.)"

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "I'm a 31 yr old female, diagnosed with CHF. I've only been taking Entresto for about 2 weeks now; but I've noticed a huge change with my breathing (going up 2 flights of stairs would almost kill me, now I can walk up them & have no issues at all), my energy alone I can tell has increased a lot!! & the best thing is I no longer have sleepless nights due to shortness of breathe.. I CAN LAY FLAT =D Yes, I'm still kind of "new" to this medicine; but so far so good. All I know is that I'm not miserable, weak, & hurting with chest pains anymore. The energy spike happened within a couple days of being on it too. The only side effect I have noticed though is itching; which I will take over the pain any day! - All my praise to God, & thanks to my Clinic for helping me through all this, & providing me with Entresto."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "I was put on Entresto for approximately 6 Months. This drug was a nightmare for me. Started on the recommended starting dose (med dose) in the beginning. Blood pressure and pulse rate went seriously low and my Doctor ignored these symptoms. I told him I was dizzy, weak, and felt worst than being on conventional Heart Failure drugs so what does he do? He tells me too double the dose. I started taking the maximum dose... In short, it dam near killed me!!!!!! Pulse rate went as low as 30 then spiked to over 140. Blood pressure was 90/60!!!! I had a blackout and my life vest went into treatment mode. I ended up in the Hospital Emergency and was admitted to the hospital. They took me off Entresto and began treatment with conventional Heart Failure drugs. Doing better now but still weak. If anybody is reading this look for supplements for H.F. They have helped more than ever... Such as CoQ10, Garlic,Krill Oil,Magnesium,L-Arginine,Taurine,D-Ribose,and L-Citrulline DL-Malate 2:1"

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "My father was diagnosed with CHF in 2003. In 2018 March his cardiologist introduced Entresto; my Dad who is usually wary of trying out new things was initially sceptical and I understand that his doctor was trying to promote Entresto to my Dad for quite some time. I am not sure of the exact conversation between the doctor and my Dad but he ended up taking Entresto and what followed was pure nightmare for him and us, his family. Dad’s energy levels plummeted and he developed renal issues not previously experienced. We took him off Entresto and the doctors gave him other medications which he had never taken before and then he took Entresto again when his conditions were slowly improving and alas one thing led to another with my Dad eventually passing away in June 2018. I am glad that Entresto is helping some people here and for the rest of you who have just started using it and experiencing adverse effects not previously experienced please do listen to your body and stop if need be."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "Cardiologist highly recommended this. Wonderful stuff! I lasted 10 day before I had to stop taking it. Terrible muscle and ligament pain. Got worse daily. When I couldn’t get out of bed on my own, I called it quits. Been off of it for two days and am almost back to normal. Be wary of this med and don’t try to push through the side effects."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "This drug Entresto had me shattered, tired beyond belief I also suffered my left leg collapsing. I suffered this problem for approx. 6months before I got taken off it. (It may have been a coincidence) however this problem got worse while on this drug. I now have excruciating pains throughout my whole leg I have seen my G.P's, muscular skeletal pain specialists & orthopaedic practitioner and no one can come up with a diagnosis. The pains are so excruciating I can't walk when taking Entresto. I was so tired I would fall asleep as soon as I sat down. And that was on the low dose of 49mg I kept being told it was a fantastic drug which had had it's trials cut short because it was so good. However this doesn't seem to be the case looking at the reviews. If anyone has similar problems to myself I would be glad to hear it as I am at my wits end and I feel it is putting a strain on me trying to cope with the Pain. My G.P. has just put me on Tramadol for the pain. However I am reluctant to take it"

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "The first day of starting enestro my husband did not feel good and continued to feel worse every day. After taking for a week and a half he started having confusion and shortness of breath along with severe combativeness. He literally went crazy chasing me and my 5 year old son trying to attack us like we were strangers and punched my vehicle window causing it to shatter. He never remembered any of the incidents. After 2 days of craziness I finally got the nerve to take him to the ER and he tried to jump out of my truck while driving down the road. He had severe depression and this was not his norm at all. The ER found nothing wrong and suggested that he follow up with his doctor. We came home and after talking about it we decided that it may be the enestro causing the craziness so he did not take it the next morning. Since stopping the enestro he feels better and is completely back to normal with no craziness."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "My heart function has gone from 10% up to 25%. I feel better and have noticed an increase in my energy. Entresto is my only option other than to have a mechanical heart. I feel blessed to have the doctors I have and for this medication. I have been on this medication for over a year. As far as side effects, I have only noticed an increase in my irritability. My kidneys are fine as of my last test. I don't think I would have made it much longer with only 10% heart function. This medicine has given me more time and a better quality of life."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "My husband was diagnosed with CHF since 2013, has been on Coreg, lasix and lisinopril since. His cardiologist suggested he start on Entresto 1/2 pill twice a day to start. He ended up in the ER after taking the third dose! low BP 83/54, weak, disorientated, almost delirious, very sleepy, had chills and feeling very cold. His BUN and CREATININE went up unlike he’s ever had. It was extremely scary! I almost called an ambulance because I had never seen him this way, not until he started this medicine. I read all the negative reviews before starting but still went for it. I feel bad that we did and we are now waiting for the cardiologist office to open in order to get him in to re-evaluate. Be extra careful and please keep a very close eye on your loved one and if you see anything out of the ordinary for them, act immediately and get help. Very stressful situation. Be careful with this medicine."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "New Cardiologist, CHF since aggressive chemotherapy for Hodgkin's Lymphoma ten years ago my body chemistry changed. Taken all the ACE inhibitors, everyone of them made me horribly ill, Bisoprolol in combo with med I can't remember ended me up in emerg with a pulse of 30bpm. I told my new Cardiologist I was stopping all cardiac meds as I was no use to anyone as I couldn't function, He jumped up and down like a mexican jumping bean telling me I will drop dead of a stroke if I don't take this Entresto. So I'm on week two of only two pills a day and am back on the couch with not enough energy to cook for myself. Lost my appetite, can't think straight, dizzy, and have given up on living. I mean why. Quality of life is most important for me even if it going to be cut short. My last ECG's are normally irregular, I have a defib implant and the amount of incidents have been triple fold since on this med. I have no faith in big money pharmacologists. They are only out for the money."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "Diagnosed this Fall with stage 4 CHF at 41. I have dilated cardiomyopathy, most likely from an infection. My EF was 10-15% and I was sent to a transplant specialist. After taking Entresto and Metoprolol for two months, my EF is already at 35%! I’m very tired, but I work a full time job. One of the 2 meds is giving me headaches, but I have had zero other symptoms. Seems like a miracle drug at this point...the cost is crazy, but that seems like the way it is with drugs these days."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "I have an enlarged heart and chronic systolic heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy. My EF was 15-20. My condition was stable until my cardiologist retired. My new cardiologist told me the wonderful new medication, Entresto, was much better for me and he would have me feeling better in no time. After a year and a half of no improvement and terrible side effects, I am going back to my old medication. Entresto puts me in the donut hole for over half the year, forcing me to pay $400 a month for Entresto alone. I pray I can regain the ground I have lost, while trying to believe my cardiologist. I am tired, swollen, dizzy and have gained weight and am disgusted with myself for taking this horrible medication for so long. I have gone from using a cane to using a walker. My EF has not improved. Please don’t take this horrible medication."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "Please don't listen to marketing and sales info, go to the clinicaltrials.gov website and look up the LIFE clinicial trial, LCZ696 is the code name they use for entresto. Look at the study results, secondary outcome, composite endpoints of effects......days alive, days out of the hospital etc. it's right there for you to see, plain as day, people stayed out of the hospital longer and lived longer by just taking generic valsartan, why is entresto (valsartan plus "something else") even on the market? This is ridiculous."

Entresto (sacubitril / valsartan) "Started with an ejection fraction of 20 percent and after being on Entresto for 3 months it is now at 55 percent! I feel so much better, more energy, and my kidney function improved. I had always gone to another doctor and not one of my primary care doctors or cardiologist, and they told me about Entresto. After being admitted to Hospital for CHF, their cardiologist put me on Entresto and it has been a life saver! Cost a little more, but like anything else, if you want something bad enough you find a way to pay for it. I’m happy to have a life now."
