Livalo (pitavastatin) "I have been on Livalo for approximately 5 years. For the past 2 years I have been having confusion, trouble finding words, and SEVERE neuropathy in my feet. My feet burn and ache so bad I can't sleep at night. I never once attributed it to this medicine, I just thought it was something I would have to live with, the joys of getting older (60). I finally mentioned to my doctor and she suggested I go off of the Livalo for two weeks and see how I feel. Today is Friday and I quit taking on Wednesday. My feet have went from a pain level of 10 to about a 2. I can't believe how much better I feel. I took Lipitor before Livalo and experience severe leg pain."

Livalo (pitavastatin) "I started Livalo Feb 2022. Having bad muscle pain from previous stints taking statins I was happy that the issue did not arise again….at first. It’s now mid May 2022 and I’ve noticed really painful left heel pain and then started noticing right neck and shoulder pain and tingling in my right arm. I’ve decided to stop taking Livalo to see if the pain recedes which I’m sure will be the case after stopping other statin meds. Good results though on the numbers-I just can’t tolerate the side effects."

Livalo (pitavastatin) "I've been on Livalo for 3 weeks now. I went to put make up on and I had to hold my hands to stop them from shaking, also I'm having a lot of anxiety and confusion. Out of pocket is 60.00 for 30 pills ,waiting to see my Dr for updated labs. I'll see results in a couple more months."

"I was on Zocor for approximately 20 years and then diagnosed with fatty liver. I was taken off Zocor, and my liver enzymes went down, then put on Crestor, liver enzymes went up again, then put on Livalo. Liver enzymes up again. LDL down to 110. I am thinking statins and liver enzymes need balancing."

Livalo (pitavastatin) "I have naturally, very high cholesterol. I'm active and live a fairly healthy lifestyle. Other statins caused severe pain. Haven't taken any medications, but high cholesterol is a concern, at last physical, and much discussion, I've tried Livalo 4mg. After one single dose, especially after the 2nd day, my mind was literally blown. I have zero tingling, my depression cleared, I stopped napping for hours on end, feeling motivated to get working on my projects again. Mind you, I've felt mostly awful for several years. I'm a very positive and active person. So, I went to stop by the doctor to ask just what magic was in this pill. I was told it's probably unrelated, but to run with it. 2 weeks later, I had to get my cholesterol rechecked... 2 weeks.... It dropped a massive 100 points. I feel wonderful after now 3 weeks of use. I'm back to the happy and energetic person I thought I had misplaced. Watch your foods though."

Livalo (pitavastatin) "I had shoulder pain and lots of neck cramping. I take at night Livalo 2mg and Losartan Potassium 25mg in the morning. I'm not sure which medication is causing the pain issues but seriously considering stopping the Losartan first. I will know more once my six-month lab report is completed."

"I was on simvastatin for a few years. After a few years my physician noticed changes in my blood work, and he switched me to Livalo or pitavastatin. My "numbers" improved greatly. I have had no side effects with either drug. Unlike with other statins, you can have grapefruit and grapefruit juice with pitavastatin as the drug works differently in your system. At first the drug would cost 50 dollars for a 30 day supply, but the manufacturer 's coupon brought it down to 25, and later to 18 dollars. I am now on Medicare and the price is 42 dollars... but my monthly health insurance costs went down by 100 dollars when I left employer coverage to Medicare."
