Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "Nothing happened. No bowel movements. Thankfully, I had absolutely no adverse reactions whatsoever like the comments on here. No reactions at all. This was a complete waste of time, starving for a day, wasting about $175 because my insurance didn't cover it, etc. I took exactly as directed hoping I could avoid the traditional drinking of the gallon of colonoscopy prep. Now, I will have to do this. Don't get me wrong, Sutab does work for some. I've watched videos of people using it successfully. It just wasn't for me, sadly."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "This was my 3rd colonoscopy prep. I used liquid preps before and had no issues at all. With Sutabs I was sick as a dog and it elongated the prep way longer than the liquid preps. I took my first dose at 6 pm and nothing until 9 pm. In the bathroom 20 times until 1:30 am and then had to do the second dose at 3:30. That bout finished up at 6 am so I was up ALL NIGHT LONG! Plus I felt horrible. My procedure was at 9:30 am and that went fine but I still felt sick the rest of the day and even the second day. I will NEVER take that crap for a prep again. NEVER!"

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "52 years old and this was my first colonoscopy. I admit I was a little worried about reading some of these reviews regarding vomiting, etc. After some research, I took the advice of others and spaced out the pills 3 minutes, which is obviously longer than the recommended time, but it didn't make a difference. It only took 10 minutes after the last pill for them to kick in! I only felt very slight queasiness, and that's about it. My morning dose went just as well. My doctor's instruction said not to eat anything the day of the prep, but I followed the box instructions and had some eggs. It didn't hurt anything! Overall, I think doctors need to be more consistent about what they tell their patients. I read a million different instructions people were given by their doctors, even starting to eat a better diet days before, etc. It didn't seem to make a difference what I had the day before my colo prep. I had a great experience with Sutab!"

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "I'm a 52-year-old female who has had several Colonoscopies since age 19 due to having IBS-C. This was my first time I used Sutab, and it worked wonderfully! I will request it again every time I have this procedure done. Mild nausea at first and bloating. No vomiting or cramping."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "Followed the diet suggestions one week in advance. The day before I maintained a liquid diet, water, Gatorade, jello, and chicken broth. After taking the first 12 pills with the recommended water my stomach felt bloated and tight. I could barely finish the next 16 oz of water before I got extremely nauseous and crampy. First two times of attempting to vomit were dry heaves, then proceeded to vomit two more times with success. It felt like I had been poisoned, thankfully my body knew just what to do, by throwing it up. I felt a little better after but had chills. About 30 minutes later I began the elimination. It was off and on for about 3 hours and it did clean me out pretty well. I decided I would not continue with the second half as it was a horrible experience, and my body clearly rejected it. I will not be recommending this to anyone and would advise the alternative method."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "Did it clean me out? Yes. All other aspects has made me decide I’m not going through this again. I was given zofran for nausea & still had nausea that kicked in about 15 minutes after the last pill. Lasted 1-2 hours. The worst part about the first dose was how sore I was getting from going to bathroom and wiping. The 1st dose was not pleasant, but it was the 2nd dose that was my deciding factor on not doing this again. 2nd dose - I only took 10 pills instead of 12 based on progress. It took me almost 30 minutes to take the 10 pills. Pretty much after my first round in the bathroom, I was clear. I only managed to drink 12 oz out of the 32 that you are to drink after an hour, mainly due to nausea & the time cut off by doctor. Soiled my clothes 3 times and decided just to wrap myself in a towel. It was gross. Not going through the torture again regardless of medicine type."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "This was my first colonoscopy so do not have experience with other methods. I read reviews for Sutab beforehand and was afraid of nausea and vomiting. The nurse said it was okay to take pills over 45 min to an hour rather than 30 minutes. I set a timer and every four minutes I took a pill and had no nausea. The key is to get in all the water without gulping and spacing it out. Kicked in an hour later than anticipated. The second dose was a little harder but manageable. Make sure you are well-hydrated before starting the prep which I was, however, I was a bit dehydrated the morning after the first dose and had some muscle cramps. The doctor said I was well prepped and my colon was healthy. I would definitely do this method again, but thankfully don’t have to for ten years."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "I started taking the first dose of Sutab after a liquid diet all day. Started at 5:00 pm and It’s now 1 am and it's not working. I have chills and a headache but not much else. I’ve had many colonoscopies, and this is the first time I have ever had this problem. I’m afraid to try the second dose, so I’m rescheduling, hopefully with a better prep."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "I took Sutab at 5 pm and had nausea, cramps, vomiting, and weakness and I could not sleep. I took a second dose at 5.30 am the next morning and it lasted till 7 am. It was effective in the end but was not as easy as the preps I have used in the past."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "I had my colonoscopy on a Friday at 1 pm, so starting Monday of that week, I drank lots of water and Gatorade in preparation for drinking lots of water with the Sutabs. I wanted to be very hydrated. I'm female, 70 years old and didn't want to get dehydrated. I took the first 12 pills at 6 pm the night before, and the other 12 at 6 am the morning of the procedure. I'm used to drinking 7-8 glasses of water a day, so drinking all the required water wasn't a problem for me. (They are large pills and my cost was $160.00 for the 24 pills. Medicare does not pay). I didn't have any issues, perhaps a small amount of nausea but that was all. I didn't have much cramping either, hardly any. I got a clean bill of health and was totally cleaned out for the colonoscopy. You see some horrific experiences here, but I had no issues and would do it again. Prepare with lots of liquids the days before. I think that helped."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "Let me say that I had no major problems... After about 1 hour, the water started going right through me – cleaning me out. No major rush to the bathroom, just belly rumblings telling me to get ready... All the water was finished going through me about an hour after the last round of water. BUT here is what I would recommend: 1) I am a 59-year-old male weighing 188 lbs. I must admit, it was difficult taking in so much water. It was not the pills that were a problem, but all that water. So if you are a tiny person – it may be more difficult. Maybe that is why some feel nauseous. But once you start “going” – you feel less bloated. 2) Get a bidet! I had installed one in my bathroom a few months ago (not for this reason) and it worked wonders. It basically showers your “spot” so no rubbing or toilet paper needed. I cannot imagine “wiping” so many times with these pills. If you cannot install one – then buy a portable one. They are like $10 at Walmart for a cheap one."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "Horrible side effects and still no results 24 hours after taking all the tablets exactly as directed by my doctor. Very painful cramps, severe distension, nausea, lots of gushing sounds, but no evacuation whatsoever. My tests need to be rescheduled after my doctor has me do yet another prep. It certainly won't be Sutab. Amendment to the above: evacuation has begun 25.5 hours after taking the first dose. The cramping is unreal. This is all happening after my scheduled test time, so I now need to remain on clear liquids for another 24 hours and have my colonoscopy tomorrow. This product is the pits."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "The evening before and the morning of my colonoscopy could not have gone smoother. After reading all of the reviews of Sutab, I was prepared for a nightmare scenario, but it was truly as easy as could be. About 15 minutes after the first dose, I felt my first bowel movement urge. It was already significantly liquid-ish and a good amount. For the next four hours, the BMs came about every 20-30 mins and were much less significant, with increasing clarity with each one. I had to wake up at 4 am for the second dose, and the BMs were more frequent and more significant in amount, eventually getting perfectly clear and yellowish. I experienced no stomach pains/cramps, no nausea, and no intense urge to rush to the toilet. Just minor stomach gurgling. It was quite a pleasant and easy experience, especially compared to what I was mentally prepared for."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "I have ulcerative colitis, so unfortunately I am not a stranger to the colonoscopy experience. I was diagnosed 26 years ago. This was my first time using Sutab for my prep, and I have to say that reading the reviews scared me. The prep is typically pretty hard on me. Thankfully I did not experience any ill side effects. It was a very easy process. I ate light for several days leading up to my prep and then followed the directions for my diet prior. If you have a hard time getting so much water down, don’t fret. You pretty much need the initial 16 ounces to get every pill down. I was completely ready for my scope, which is even better. I highly recommend this prep over the drinks and ungodly other preps I have done previously."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "Took the 1st dose (12 tablets and water) as prescribed. One hour after taking all the pill and drinking all the water I began to bloat, severe stomach cramp, and vomiting. The pills did work as it pertained to moving my bowels but at what cost?!?! I woke up at 3am the next morning with a bad headache with vomiting and continued cleansing of the bowels. I cancelled my appointment due to still throwing up and a bad headache and will never try the pill prep again."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "If you have IBS or slow moving digestive system, make sure your gastro is aware with this prep! I was going all night long and even in the waiting room waiting for procedure that morning. It took too long to clean me out. Good thing I went to bed with a diaper and diaper cover. I didn't get much sleep, and what little I did, I woke up with my diaper soaked in diarrhea. I found out after on followup appointment, this should have cleaned me out before bedtime. Now I have to go back and get another one done that they can see better with the scope."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "As good as it can get. This can't be compared to the drink. Light years different. I experienced no nausea, cramping, chills, etc. Did space it 5 mins apart based on others' experiences and I followed the water dosage precisely on the 1st dosage. As I found I could control my diarrhea timing through water consumption. In the 2nd dose, I incorporated Gatorade and water in between the 'water prescription'. I think spacing the pills out and not drinking excessively helped. I HIGHLY recommend Sutab over anything else I have tried in the past."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "As a past colon cancer survivor, I have had multiple colonoscopies done and always used a liquid prep. This time I was prescribed Sutab and I wish I had read the reviews prior to taking them. I followed the directions to a tee and felt bloated, and once everything kicked in I had such burning in the anal area that it felt like I was on fire. Based on the time of my procedure I had to get up at 3:30 am and do the second dose. The prep did not clean me out completely according to my doctor and I have never had this happen before. She was able to get the majority done but it did not go well. The following day I still felt depleted and very fatigued. The next day I woke up in terrible pain in my legs, back, chest, and joints. This necessitated a hospital stay for severe dehydration. I will never use this prep again and wish I had seen the reviews before taking it. It has now been a week since my procedure and I am still feeling the effects."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "These pills are a life changer! I will never use anything else. Cost: not covered by my Medicare Advantage plan. Cost at the pharmacy was $198. I paid $50 with mfg coupon. Prep: followed low-fiber diet 1 week prior to pills. Ease of use: as long as you can take pills, it was easy. Pills were smaller than my daily multivitamin. Pills had no flavor. Discomfort: for me, there was NONE. No upset stomach. No cramping. No bloating. Method: I took the pills 2 minutes apart. They say to use a sip of water, but keep in mind you have 16 oz of water, so you can use over 1 oz of water with each pill. That's a good-sized swallow, so don't worry about using too little water. OVERALL REVIEW: I would use this again in a heartbeat. And to me, it's worth every penny. Never going back to that liquid."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "I was very nervous about this prep due to the varying reviews I had read. I'm a 38-year-old male, and this was my first colonoscopy. Like others mentioned, I ate a low-residue diet for about three days before and did a clear liquid diet on the day of. I made sure I was very hydrated before starting the prep at 6 pm. My doctor instructed me to take one pill every 5 minutes and ignore what's on the box. It seems to be helpful to space them out more. The first round was actually very easy; I felt really good the entire time. I started having bowel movements around 7:30 and they kept going until 10. I had to do the second round at midnight since my procedure was at 9:30 am. I experienced some slight cramping and nausea in the second round, and I had more bowel movements than in the first round. I never vomited or felt close to doing so, which was the main thing I was worried about. I finished up around 3:30 and was able to get a couple of hours of sleep before going to the procedure. The prep was way easier than I expected."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "This was my fifth colonoscopy and my first time using sutab. I had no nausea or vomiting. The only side effect I noticed was small stomach discomfort. I took one pill every 90 seconds with a sip of water plus followed with the drinking of additional water as directed. I think this might have made the difference over taking all twelve pills at once. Overall this was much better than drinking a gallon of miralax the day before followed by magnesium citrate the morning of the procedure. I would use sutab again over other options. Highly recommended. There was a coupon online so I only paid $40 for this medication."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "Here are some tips to help your colonoscopy preparation experience: Firstly, I recommend that you ask your doctor for Zofran to alleviate nausea. Although pills are more convenient and do not taste bad (except when you burp), the nausea may be worse than in previous colonoscopy preps. In my case, I never vomited with the liquid prep during my previous two colonoscopies, but this time I vomited an hour after taking the second dose. I had to confirm with the doctor's office whether the prep would still be effective. Eventually, I passed clear liquid stool, so it was deemed satisfactory, but I only scored a 7 out of 9 for the quality of my prep. Despite following every dietary instruction before and during prep, I do not know what else I could have done. Secondly, you might want to consider sitting on towels or wearing an adult diaper during prep to avoid accidents. I had an unpleasant accident, which did not occur during my previous preps. The sudden bowel movement happened 2.5 hours after taking the first dose, leaving me no time to reach the bathroom. Finally, I suggest purchasing baby wipes with aloe or a similar alternative, as well as hydrocortisone cream to alleviate any discomfort."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "This was my 3rd colonoscopy but my first time using Sutab. It did not work for me at all. I got all the bad side effects of nausea, bellyache, dehydration, headache , without the expected results of having emptied my bowels so I could have a successful procedure. I will have to repeat my colonoscopy in 3 months. I won't ask for that drug again."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "This was my first colonoscopy at age 50, and I had heard horror stories about the prep for years. My doctor prescribed Sutab, and my colonoscopy prep went off without a hitch. The Sutab kit came with two bottles of 12 tablets each and a 16 oz cup. My instructions were to take the first of the 12 tablets at 5 pm with 16 oz of water, followed by 16 oz of water at 6 pm and 16 oz more of water at 6:30 pm. I took one pill every 90 seconds and did not experience any nausea. About 1 hour later, I started having bowel movements, and by 11 pm, everything was over, and I grabbed a couple of hours of sleep. I got back up at 3 am and took the second dose of 12 tablets with 16 oz of water, which I took on the same 90-second schedule. I then had to drink 32 oz of water and be done with that at 4:30 am. All in all, no pain or discomfort, and the pills are tasteless. Can't complain one bit and will definitely use again in 5 years' time."

Sutab (magnesium sulfate / potassium chloride / sodium sulfate) for Bowel Preparation "I have had many colonoscopies before, and have always done the traditional drinking gallons upon gallons of Miralax. So when offered to take Sutab pills, it was a no-brainer. Well, worst mistake of my life. I took the first bottle of pills starting at 4 pm. By 4:30, I was nonstop vomiting and had a throbbing headache. The second bottle of pills brought more vomit and brought on rather violent diarrhea. Next time, I am guzzling the Miralax and will gladly do so."
