For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "In 2018 I have tried the Flomax to decrease my prostate and help my urine flow perfectly but then the doctor prescribe another medication which is Finasteride . The first week I tried it I felt funny in my testicle and I became dry immediately but my sex life is a bad and my doctor found small cancer in my prostate and they say it would be good for another 15 years before you have surgery but I decided to have the surgery since my cancer wasn’t a productive one that it does not it goes all over the body. Now it’s been almost 9 months since I had the surgery and doing great. Sex Is OK. Thank goodness I am cancer free and I am 68 right now I decide to have the surgery and than take the medication for another 15 years. It is a bad, bad medication"

For Androgenetic Alopecia "I took this product for 3 months. I can't say whether it worked or it didn't. All I know is that at the three month mark my boys started aching bad. And E.D kicked in. The other posts in this website are on the money. If you care about your sexual health and sex life then do not take this drug! I was in the "it won't happen to me" group of men. That try something anyway. The side effects are horrible. I immediately stopped the drug and for me thankfully within two weeks everything is back to normal. I'm not sure the results if I had stayed on it longer. Bottom line. Stay away."

For Androgenetic Alopecia "Hi guys. I'm the son of a man who went bald at the age of 18 and I'm one of 4 brothers. I staring taking Propecia at the age of 39 and I'm 51 now. Not only has my hair stronger and thicker like I've lost none, I'm the only brother now with a full head of hair. I had my first child at age 42 and have just had my fifth 4 months ago. I have never had any of the side effects that others have written about on here. If I had my time over again I would do exactly the same thing except maybe have started taking this pill a little earlier so that my hair wouldn't have thinned so much before I starting taking it (The thinning has totally reversed). I have and would recommend this treatment to any other male who like to feel good about themselves."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I am a 72 years old male, have taken this med for a year now. Definite increase in weight and breast size (as much as 5-7 lbs), easier urinary flow, but not as it used to be, notable decrease in sperm, erections at first were more difficult, but have improved over the past six months. Originally tried a Natural prostrate offering for six months with little sign of change, but thinking now that my prostate has shrunk some, I'll try that again before renewing this prescription. Notably, my PSA score dropped from 6.5 to 3 over the past year!"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Age 63, using finasteride for 2 years and no other medications. Took many months for improvement in urination and now much improved though definitely not what it was when I was young. I am no longer scouting for spots to stop in a 30 minute walk. I typically sleep about 5 hours at night before having to get up. Other changes since beginning dosage: ejaculation volume has decreased, occasional but rare loss of erection during intercourse. No other changes noticed, in particular no loss of libido, and no mental changes noticed. After doing the research physiological effects seem to be the same at 1mg (for hair loss) as 5mg (for BPH) so I quarter the 5mg pills and take a 1/4 pill per day."

For Androgenetic Alopecia "Terrible medication that has the potential to cause persistent side effects even after going off it. More people get side effects than they would have you believe. Ongoing research is being done about PFS (post finasteride syndrome) and more and more doctors are speaking out about it. It will work for keeping your hair, but you’re playing with fire"

Propecia (finasteride) for Androgenetic Alopecia "Have been taking this drug for almost a year now. My hair was starting to thin a few years back and I just decided to give this a try as we all know nothing else works! Since I've been taking it I haven't noticed any real side effects so I guess I've been lucky in that sense, but to be honest neither have I experienced any change in hair loss either. My hair is still thinning, probably even more so now than it used to. This drug has been an absolute waste of time and money. It does not work. Scientists can transplant organs from one body to another, they can clone sheep, they can grow an ear on a mouse's back, but for some reason they cant figure out how to grow hair where hair used to grow anyway! Don't waste your money."

For Androgenetic Alopecia "I've done a lot of research about hair and looking for natural ways to make my hair grow back. I've been working on my hair and I have come up to the simplest solution within the last couple of years. Use shampoos that do not have sulfates and those that pull blood towards the roots of the hairs. Add a little mint oil in your shampoo. I use Nizoral quite often as it also contains Zinc. Leave your shampoo about 15 minutes before you rinse it off. I wash my hair twice a week unless it's summer and warm when I was it three times a week. Result? It's growing back, slowly but surely. I'd say it should take about 4 years to have a full set of hair back. Save your money and health!"

For Androgenetic Alopecia "Well, I have been on the 1 mg for years. It really helped make my hair thick. It quit working as well as hair falls out some in the shower. Plus I have a lower sex drive but that is good. I am more concerned about my hair than my sex drive. Anyway I am starting on the 5 mg today. I will see what happens. I am 49."

For Androgenetic Alopecia "Started taking finasteride for hair-loss 4 years ago at the age of 22 when the balding became evident. My balding started in the crown area and moved it's way toward the temples, so I am/was a diffuse thinner. I was lucky enough to stop it in time and regrow virtually everything and more with this medication, along with the help of Minoxidil. There are no side effects for me to document. My sex-drive has and is still always in hyper-speed; I have suffered no brain-fog, no ill effects to speak of whatsoever. Besides the price-tag, this medication will save your hair. You have to try it out for yourself. And just to note: there is no possible way for 1 pill to have permanent side effects, do your research."

For Androgenetic Alopecia "The drug is posed as a clinically safe way to reduce hairloss. Studies supposedly proved this and all doctors considered it safe. After taking this drug, within 2 hours something shifted in the way I perceived the world, anxiety and emotional empathy were abnormally heightened. Attributing it to temporary effects, as seen in painkillers and recreative substances. Took one more dose. It’s currently >6 months after quitting. These effects and more still remain. Research concludes it it’s effects are set in the epigenone. - sour ammoniak body odor - pale skin thin bodyhair more subq bodyfat - muscle loss calves; forearms; neck - gynecomastia - female fat distribution - loss of ambition/enthusiasm/life energy - loss of libido/ED - personality alterations - altered brain body connection - depression/suicidal ideation"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "It gradually reduced the number of times I had to get up at night to urinate, from 2-3 to 0-1. But after a year or 2 it became gradually less effective until I was back to getting up 2-3 times per night. Also, I noticed that my ejaculate was less, my libido had decreased, and I developed a bend in my penis for no apparent reason. I stopped taking it and my libido immediately began to return and continues to strengthen. Also, I seem to be getting stronger at the gym and a little more aggressive. It feels like my testosterone is being restored to normal."

Propecia (finasteride) for Androgenetic Alopecia "When I turned 50, I went in for a physical. The doctor noticed my hair was thinning and recommended Propecia. That was 14 years ago and today I have a very full head of hair, especially for a 64 yo. Two issues, one it must be taken religiously. I take it at least 350+ times a year. Two, its not cheap. Generics are available on the internet. My brother was born 10 months before me. Physically, we are very similar. During our youth, our hair was almost identical. Today, he is balding, badly. Side affects. Shortly after I starting taking it, I DID have trouble getting an erection, but the problem went away after a number of weeks. I was thinking of quitting, but just wanted to give my body a little more time to adjust. And it did. No regrets"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I've been taking finasteride for 3 months now it works well in shrinking the prostate but has definitely seem to take away my libido, sex drive and my erections are very weak. It is not solid in the morning when you have to go to the bathroom which is normal for guys. I'm thinking that it's not worth taking the pill, it does work on shrinking the prostate, it is just that takes your libido and sex drive away which is very disappointing, very discouraging and sad. I hear different professional opinions some that it will come back when I'm off it and some that I've read it said it may take a very long time for things to get normal"

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Tried finasteride 10 years ago for urination problems. It caused SERIOUS cognitive issues, not yet completely resolved. Doc switched me to dutasteride. I have taken it for 10 years with good results, no side effects except reduced ejaculate volume. Now my insurance company wants me to switch back. NO WAY. If I cannot resolve the issue with the insurance company I will order dutasteride from somewhere else"

For Androgenetic Alopecia "I've been using 1mg finasteride over the past year. After a few months of use I was unable to recall basic information that I otherwise would have had at the tip of my tongue. Brain fog, haziness in my responses and sometimes I could not even verbalise what I was thinking. Find another way to save your hair loss."

For Androgenetic Alopecia "I am a 32 year-old transman. I had been going through a period of rapid hair loss. Some was due to stress, genetics and some was due the testosterone I take. I was highly doubtful whether finasteride would help the hair loss but after 4 months on this medication my hair grew back full and thick! And it continues to grow at a rapid pace. I was worried about side effects but I had none. I highly recommend this."

For Androgenetic Alopecia "I may have reviewed this medication a while ago but I am here again to provide an update. I am 24 now and start on Fin when I was 20. This medication does work. I am a twin, he’s not taking the medication and buzzes his head and obviously losing his hair. It works, no side effects. I have my hair and it’s in better health now than it was during my teenage years. I gave this a 9 because after two years of being on it, I felt like it started to reverse, losing hair again. I found I doctor who prescribed me Dutasteride .5mg 1x per week and I am doing very well (knock on wood) I am seriously so grateful for these meds and rogaine. I would likely have no self confidence. Do not fear side effects. I work out. Sexually am still wild. If you work out, your workout sups give you more side effects than this. But I can tell you after being on this med for 4 years, no side effects. Take it"

For Androgenetic Alopecia "I've applied 0.2mg topically to my scalp daily and after a week I started to experience decreased penile sensation, decreased libido and a weird pain in my testicles. No erectile dysfunction or mood swings but I thought I'm sensitive to it and the sides would get worse if I continued. So I stopped and everything back to normal in like 2 days. I actually kinda liked the decreased libido effect, you see the world in a different way."

I didn't now about this side effect but I found out on the internet that it is a common side. I can tell you that feeling is worse than the sexual sides effects. I wish no one to feel that horrible feeling."

For Androgenetic Alopecia "I have taken this drug for 3 months and take writing this review very seriously as I can see some negative feedback which I believe to be inaccurate. The drug does not work immediately so be weary of any review were the user has taken it for less that 3 months. After becoming anxious about going bald I bought 3 months supply. I started noticing hair loss reducing from about 6 weeks on as my desk was no longer covered. Hard to tell if any regrowth but as I started early I still had a reasonably healthy cover. Not being anxious about premature aging has really helped my confidence. Have experienced no tangible side effects but in the first week believed it may have effected sex drive but as this has disappeared I now think it was a mental block. Can't say I have noticed any other issues. For me it has been very positive as I no longer worry about looking old for my age."

For Androgenetic Alopecia "Do Not Risk This Drug. Over ten years I’ve taken this drug and I wish I never knew it existed. For 12 months I’ve been telling my GP I am no longer able to get sexually aroused, cannot trust my erection, struggle to orgasm and my penis is completely numb. This is not 2% of men as they say, latest studies are showing this is, at the lowest 20% and growing as more men come forward. The ‘side effects’ also appear to NOT be reversible. That means you cannot have a child and will not be able to have a sexually active relationship. I’m struggling it’s the realization I’ve been prescribed a super dangerous drug and it’s not destroyed a large portion of my life."
