Sectral (acebutolol) for Premature Ventricular Depolarizations "Been on sectral for 15 years at a dose of 200mg a day for Premature Ventricular Depolarizations, after having an ablation for a bad pathway. Sectral is a miracle drug for me...keeps me low a slow...no issues."

Sectral (acebutolol) for High Blood Pressure "I have been on Acebutolol (Sectral) for 2 years now and my BP is pretty controlled. I am also on it for an elevated heart rate not related to mitral valve prolapse. My heart rate is usually in the 80s now. :)"

Sectral (acebutolol) for High Blood Pressure "I've had high blood pressure since I was 19 & been on MANY blood pressures Meds that just stopped working. My doctor put me on Acebutolol, when I was 35. I'm 45 now & my blood pressure is ALWAYS PERFECT or low! I was on a 2nd medication when I started & I was off that 2 years after starting Acebutolol. This medication is awesome! When I was unemployed, Medicaid required a prior-auth! So I had to borrow the money to fill it! "

For High Blood Pressure "Acebutolol (for whatever reason) is hard to find user info on. I have been on it almost 1 year & once my body adjusted to it (less than 1 week), it has been pleasant. No side effects, no hair loss. It keeps my BP in perfect range & my resting HR has gone from 98 to 62 (I wear a FitBit 24/7). I've also been able to lose 40lbs while on this medication (further helping my HR & BP). I take it at night so any fatigue will occur while I'm sleeping."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been on it for a year. No problems until now. My hands and feet hurt. My skin is super dry. Heart rate is fine, but muscles and other parts of my body are not getting enough blood. I take it for HOCM, so I will have to tell my cardiologist and taper off. I take the lowest dose capsules."

For Ventricular Arrhythmia "I have had terrible PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) that made me so sick I wanted to die. I was prescribed Metoprolol that made me sick because it dropped my BP too low and heart rate too low and didn't completely stop my PVCs. I took a calcium channel blocker that also didn't really work. Acebutolol is known for not lowering the heart rate as much as Metoprolol and not only was it the only med I could tolerate, it has stopped my PVCs so they are hardly detectable and side effects are minimal. I am so worried Amneal will stop making it because it is rarely prescribed anymore as cheaper meds are on the market that are also time release and Acebutolol is not time released. For me it has been a miracle drug. My doctor said it has been his 'secret weapon' for those who can't tolerate other beta blockers."
