Triamcinolone Cream is used for:

Reducing itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions.

Triamcinolone Cream is a corticosteroid. The exact way that it acts against most causes of inflammation is not known, but it is thought to slow or stop the chemicals in the body that cause inflammation. This helps to relieve discomfort.

Do NOT use Triamcinolone Cream if:

• you are allergic to any ingredient in Triamcinolone Cream

Before using Triamcinolone Cream:

Some medical conditions may interact with Triamcinolone Cream. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

• if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
• if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
• if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
• if you have a skin infection, measles, thinning of the skin, tuberculosis (TB), a positive TB skin test, chickenpox, shingles, or have recently had a vaccination

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Triamcinolone Cream. Because little, if any, of Triamcinolone Cream is absorbed into the blood, the risk of it interacting with another medicine is low.

Ask your health care provider if Triamcinolone Cream may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

How to use Triamcinolone Cream:

Use Triamcinolone Cream as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

• Apply a small amount of medicine to the affected area. Gently rub the medicine in until it is evenly distributed. Wash your hands after applying Triamcinolone Cream, unless your hands are part of the treated area.
• Do not wrap or otherwise cover the treated area with bandages or wear tight-fitting clothing unless specifically directed to do so by your doctor. Do not use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants on children using Triamcinolone Cream in the diaper area.
• If you miss a dose of Triamcinolone Cream, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.

Important safety information:

• Triamcinolone Cream is for external use only. If you get Triamcinolone Cream in your eyes, immediately flush with cool tap water.
• Do not use Triamcinolone Cream for other skin conditions at a later time.
• Corticosteroids may affect growth rate in CHILDREN and teenagers in some cases. They may need regular growth checks while they use Triamcinolone Cream.
• Caution is advised when using Triamcinolone Cream in CHILDREN; they may be more sensitive to its effects.
• PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Triamcinolone Cream while you are pregnant. It is unknown if Triamcinolone Cream is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Triamcinolone Cream, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Possible side effects of Triamcinolone Cream:

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. No COMMON side effects have been reported with Triamcinolone Cream. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); blurry vision;changes in menstrual cycle; easy bruising; excessive hair growth; impaired wound healing; itching, burning, redness, discoloration, or swelling of the skin not present before using Triamcinolone Cream; mental or mood changes; moon face; muscle weakness; osteoporosis; rise in body temperature; skin thinning; tiredness.

Proper storage of Triamcinolone Cream:

Store Triamcinolone Cream at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, light, and moisture. Keep Triamcinolone Cream out of the reach of children and away from pets.
