I'm from the UK and have been on thyroxine for as long as I can remember (I'm 24)
I will be sailing around the world early next year and it is just not possible for me to sign up to a doctor every where I go to get my drugs. I know you can get 3 months worth of meds in one go, but when I'm crossing the Atlantic (which can take up to six weeks) I'd rather know that I have more than 3 months worth with me just incase anything happens. I've heard it might be possible on a private prescription but have been unable to make an appointment with my doctor yet to ask.
Ideally a years worth in one hit would be perfect, then I can coincide flying back to the UK, getting a blood test and my yearly prescription at the same time.
If anyone has any experience with sort of thing, I'd be happy to hear it.
