Hello mb1973. Generally, in regards to anxiety, the drugs that do the best job with the least amount of side effects are the benzodiazepine family. Doctors are becoming more and more reluctant to prescribe them because, they are addictive by thier makeup and not easy to stop when its time todo so. Some bezodiazepines are valium, xanax, and serax and klonopin. Then there are the SSRI family. Prozac, zoloft, paxil. From these three, the one that I might suggest is zoloft. Its side effects are minimal. Weight gain is not an issue although you'll hear "I gained 40 pounds my first year!" and so on. The norm for zoloft is minimal weight gain, (if that). Constipation is not a major issue but libido and insomnia are. I know, that libido is on your list. The other one I might suggest is Lexapro. One of the major complaints is fatique. But in regards to other side effects, minimal. It really depends on your own biological chemistry, how your body manages and how powerfull the dose is. These two combined play a major role in a drug, and how it effects you. Best of wishes, pledge
