the ER and CR are different due to the inactive ingredients. I have taken Soma's for years. I always got the Dan brand. Last month my pharmacy changed to a brand that had a V on 1 side. I broke out in hives, had red welts all over my body, and it itched and burned so bad I was crying. It's due to the different buffers they put in their medicines. One is ER and has certain inactive ingredients, the other is CR and it is different or it would have been named ER. Look up each drug and check what exactly is in each pill. Then you should see the difference. Look at the inactive ingredients. It's one of them that your allergic to. The amounts of each inactive ingredients are different, as well as what inactive ingredients they put in each. Be sure to tell your pharmacist that you are allergic to the CR brand! If they don't have ER, take your prescription somewhere else, where they do.
Not only is an allergic reaction uncomfortable (unbearable on my part), it is very dangerous! In some cases people have died from allergic reactions. So DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU THEY ARE THE SAME, CAUSE THEY ARE NOT. IF THEY WERE THEY WOULD HAVE THE SAME NAME.

O.K. What if the scrip says: "Morphine Sulfate CR Tablet Extended Release 12 Hour 100 mg Orally"; if the active ingredients are supposedly the exact same in both, yet - the IN-active ingredients supposedly differ with both, how is it then even possible to fill such an Rx order with "CR & Extended Release" on a single drug Rx ? Also, if it is true that CR vs. ER differ ONLY in the INACTIVE ingredients, what are the inactive ingredients true differences with both - and then - why are people reporting allergic reactions to the 'inactive' stuff ? What are the exact differing ingredients between CR & ER ? We need a Tech or Lic. Pharmacologist to truly answer this one. Prev.answrs R way 2 vague thus far! T.Y.V.M. pbp4YHWH.
