Glipizide is a prescription medication used to treat type 2 diabetes (also known as non-insulin-dependent diabetes or adult-onset diabetes). Glipizide extended-release tablets. These tablets release the medication slowly, providing a more even level of medication in the blood.

like for instance it takes 25 minutes before prantin medicine for diabetes is effective I was wandering if the same applies to glipizide 5mg

My blood sugars, first thing in the morning, before food, are in the 180-200 range.

Take 3 5mg twice a day. Insulin once @ bedtime. Can higher glipizide dose take place of insulin just this once tonight?
