I’ve just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, which is not really surprising as it runs on my father's side of the family. I’ve had the usual symptoms: thirst, peeing a lot but not excessively itchy down under, and lethargy. But the thing that’s getting me is the massive weight loss which is quite a shock. I know it’s because I’m peeing out sugar but I weighed myself this morning and the scales said I was 8 1/2 stone, whereas 2 to 3 weeks ago I was 11 stone 3.!
The GP was really confused because all my other test results are normal, but looking back at how my dad passed. He went undiagnosed for years and he was here one week and gone the next thankfully I’m now starting on metformin but is it just because I’m peeing out sugar? got quite a shock when I stood on the scales never been 8 1/2 stone in my life and I’m a size 14/16 my measurements haven’t really changed. I’m on one tablet three times a day to increase two times and then three times in the following weeks. I know they are likely to cause an upset stomach so I’m making sure I eat plenty of food, but how quickly did they work for you and did your weight start to come up again. thanks so much
